The Failed One's

Prologue

As the final school bell rang Cuauhtemoc sighed and stood up carring Santiago. He signaled over to Daniel to hold his hand. Cuauhtemoc age 5, Daniel age 4, and Santiago age 3, longed too go to school but they were unable because...well you see these three brothers are orphans. They live in a shaggy old abandoned house not to far from the school.

The brothers started their way home through the forest when Santiago started squirm "Woah! Hey what's gotten into you Santi?!" Cuauhtemoc exclaimed trying to keep hold of Santiago. "Mmgh! d-doggy!" Santiago pointed to a stray dog. Cuauhtemoc smiled and nodded "Yup. Hey if you're good I'll get you one." Santiago lit up with happiness and Daniel just gave him a look that said "Don't lie to him."

They continued walking until they got to there destination. Cuauhtemoc placed Santiago down and stared at the door. Before anyone left they had to tie a string on the door to keep it shut. That was the rule but the string was on the ground and the door was opened just a crack. "Wait here" Cuauhtemoc whispered as he went around back. Daniel held on to Santiago and his in the bushes. Meanwhile Cuauhtemoc had looked threw all the windows to see if anyone was in there. He came back and signaled that the coast was clear. "maybe an animal got in? " Daniel said shrugging. "Hm... Maybe but I don't know" responded Cuauhtemoc. As the two where talking about how the string ended up on the floor Santiago opened the the door and went in. A couple of moments later Santiago screamed. The two brothers yelled "Santiago!" and quickly rushed inside. To their surprise they saw a man wearing a dark brown jacket holding onto Santiago. "Hey! Let my brother go! " Cuauhtemoc yelled holding on to Daniel by his arm. "Y-yeah! " echoed Daniel. The manwalked up to them and held out his hand and firmly said "come with me." The two stepped back. "Temo we should listen to him" Daniel said nervously. "No he's bad news" Cuauhtemoc said glaring at the man."But he has Santi!" exclaimed. Daniel. "...Ok you win" The two slowly walked up to the man.

Cuauhtemoc held the mans' hand while he held on to Daniels hand.
The man esscorded them out and stopped in front of a van. He let go of Cuauhtemocs' hand and placed Santiago down. The man reached into his jacket and held out three sets of handcuffs. "...Are we under arrest?" Daniel asked hiding behind Cuauhtemoc. "What did we do?! " Cuauhtemoc said defensefully. "Calm down you guys aren't under arrest. It's just a...precaution." "Good I didn't want to take a nap" Santiago said in relief. The man Could'nt help but laugh. "Arrest doesn't mean you have to take a nap it's like...um... What is arrest?" Daniel asked puzzled. Cuauhtemoc shrugged while laughing. "Well any way" the man handcuffed the brothers and told them to sit in the back.

He drove them to a big skyscraper. "What does..Ca..rador..ores mean?" Santiago asked squinting his eyes. "huh? Oh you mean cazadores, Santi" corrected Cuauhtemoc. "what does that mean? " "Hm... I don't remember...hey Man with jacket what does Cazadores mean" Cuauhtemoc asked.
The man didn't reply. He parked and escorted them inside. "Are these the new shipment?" the front desk lady asked. "Yup. " he replied. "ok well just through those doors" she pointed. The Man nodded and lead the way.

The Man lead them into a completely empty and white room and told them to stay there as he uncuffed them. "Temo I'm scared" Santiago grabbed Cuauhtemoc. "it's ok...um let's play a game." Cuauhtemoc caught the attention of his two brothers. "Yes! But which one? " Santiago asked. "Hmm... I'll let Danny pick." Daniel was filled with happiness it was rare that he got to pick the game since it was usually Santiago who choosed it. "Um...hold on let me think.... Let's play a make believe game" Daniel said excitedly.

"Ok,whats the story?" Cuauhtemoc
asked. "....ROBOT PIRATES!!!" Daniel exclaimed. Santiago gasps and jumps in excitement "Yes!Yes!!"

As the brothers played and enjoyed themselves the man when to the lead scientist. "I got three new ones." " Will people notice them gone?" the Scientist adjusted her glasses. "I doubt it. They're orphans that lived in an abandoned house" The man leaned against the wall. "Good" she smiled "go get them." The man nodded and started walking to the room where the brothers were at.

"Hoist the flag!" Commanded Santiago. "Aye captain" Cuauhtemoc sad as he quickly stood up straight. "Beep bo beep!" Daniel did some weird robot noises. "GAH! It's the robo pirates!" Santiago exclaimed. "I'll get me capta-" just then Cuauhtemoc was interuped by the man. "Sorry to interrupt up I want you to meet someone."
The brothers were hesitant but Cuauhtemoc stood his ground. "Only if you tell us your name."
"My name? Why do you need to know that?" the man asked shocked.
"well um...I just wanna know" Cuauhtemoc said scratching his head.
"Well only if you guys come" the man smirked slightly.
The brothers nodded. "Ok well...my real name is Michael but I'm reffered as no. 48 or
ugh... Miracle Mike"
The brothers stood in confusion. Why was he referred to as a number? "well anyway let's get going." They follow Michael out and into another compound.

Finally after many twist and turns they make it to the scientists' office. the brothers all looked at eachother and Cuauhtemoc asked "Um.. Michael sir...do we have to go in?" Michael hesitated to turn around but still did "Yeah...but wait here for a bit." The two eldest brothers nodded and waited patiently while Michael talked to the scientist.

When Michael came out he seemed different almost sad but quickly rushed off.
"huh?..."Cuauhtemoc and Daniel stood in confusion while Santiago tried to fight nap time.
"Ah! There's my new children!" the female scientist exclaimed.
The brothers jolted up and the two youngest hid behind Cuauhtemoc.
"Don't worry I won't hurt you" She said as her voice cracked.
The brothers backed up a bit.
She cleared her throat and held out her hand "I'm Professor Cab"
"Um... I'm Cuauhtemoc and this is Daniel" Daniel shyly waved "and Santiago" Santiago was holding back his tears. Professor Cab giggled a bit "Well I'm going to but you in a another room full of toys. Would you guys like that? "
Daniel and Santiago nodded in delight while Cuauhtemoc gave her a funny look. She escorted them to the new room.

"Wow! " Santiago and Daniel said in amazement. "have fun! " Professor Cab said with a forced smile.
The boys started playing with the toys while the professor observed them with a wicked smile on her face.

After a couple of months Santiago started to refer Professor Cab as mom or mommy and Cuauhtemoc wasn't liking that. He never had a good feeling about her and would refuse to eat the food she gave them unless he saw her make it and he was right there watching her. This suspicion grew and intestsed as the days pasted.
