Chapter 1
Once again I find myself looking at the clear, azure sky out of the little, square windows scattered along the upper parts of the girl's swim team locker room. Isn't it just beautiful?
It would have been if I wasn't looking for my undies, again! You see, this has been happening for the past month.
I ran my fingers through my hair and let out a big sigh and resumed pacing back and forth - trying to come up with a solution to my unfortunate predicament, while simultaneously murdering Blaze Livingstone in my head with my pink pocket knife I got from Jase as an 'Okay, I'm tired of you constantly throwing hints and sending me links to this damn knife. Here! Now stop!' present. I chuckled thinking just how easy Jase was. Yes that made me a little happier. I had Blaze to thank for the disaster my life has become in these last four weeks after all! Just thinking about his stupid existence riled me up!
I couldn't help but scoff at the cliché he was, the school's popular guy, loved by all the ladies, hated by all of the guys, a jerk and the star athlete. I mean come on! He was a walking, talking character out a crapppy, overly-cheesy romance novel - except I was never going to fall in love with him. Instead it was more of an 'I'm in-hate with you' type of relationship, I thought rolling my eyes.
It all started on the first day of senior year, and no, this wasn't some hearts, rainbows and sunshine scene out of High School Musical, where everyone was happy to be back at school and broke out into song and dance. No, everyone was noticeably miserable that break was over and Jason, my best friend since forever and a day and I were here to heighten their misery!
You see, Jase and I, we had a tradition...
As usual, we pants'd everyone who entered the school gates, sending them running, well more like tripping over their pants in fear and utter mortification. I let a little chuckle out remembering the more rosy days of my life. This was our ritual. This was us.
As Jase and I were sprawled out on the hard, concrete floor of the school's parking lot, laughing so hard that tears rolled down our faces, I saw him – or should I say it!
Blaze cruised into the parking lot with that infamous smirk plastered on his dumb face, looking at everyone as if he was the only person in the world to have successfully found out the secret recipe of the Krabby Patty! The nerve! Showing up with that 'I am important' air about him.
I snorted loudly looking on whilst nudging Jase's ribs fiercely, alerting him on the 'King's' arrival.
Jase just rolled his eyes dramatically, shrugged him off and continued to pants these poor suckers.
I looked over to where Blaze was standing - then over to half of the student body, looking hungrily at him with lust filled eyes, more precisely the girls and even a few guys. The rest of the guys stared daggers at him and held their girlfriends a little bit tighter. I laughed at that, even I couldn't deny the power he held over these people. These girls would never learn, I thought shaking my head. He probably slept with most of these girls, dumped their sorry asses a few hours later and yet they still think the Sun shines out of his ass! How is that even possible?
Blaze and I locked gazes and we had a stare off, we always did this and he always won and today was no exception. Another reason to hate his brains! How do his eyes never tear up or start burning?
I'll have to search 'How to win a stare off' I thought absentmindedly because well, I was tired of losing to this loser but technically winner, I thought begrudgingly.
