Sari's Pov:
Soccer practice was great! There was no way they couldn't put me on varsity!
Many thoughts of excitement swirled in my head. I scored 5 goals during tryouts. I began to walk home. The sun was setting illuminating the sky. Red, orange, and pink cascaded along the horizon as the moon started peeking from behind the tree tops.
I decided to take a shortcut through the park. since the temperature was dropping and it was getting dark. I should have taken that ride Haley offered me. I thought to myself in anger. A car slowly approached me. It was a deep maroon with many bumps and scratches.
The car began to pull over to the side of the road so I started power walking. I heard the car go into park, followed by a car door slamming shut. I broke into a jog. I could hear footsteps behind me. "Sari wait!" An oddly familiar voice called from behind me.
To my suprise it was Jade's Dad. "Oh uh- hi- um sorry for running from y-" "hey don't worry about it he replied warmly "need a ride home?" I nodded akwardly.
As he stepped into the streetlight I saw scratches on his face and what looked to be blood on his hands. Confused I reluctantly stepped into the car. It couldn't be blood. Could it?
We drove in silence for about 5 minutes until we were about a block away from his house. He stopped the car. "Um why do we sto-" he cut me off. "You know Sari I have known you for so long. You were always my favorite of Jade's playmates." He slowly leaned closer to me, putting his hand on my upper thigh. I could smell the alchohol in his breath. "You are so beautiful" he whispered into my ear. I tried to push him away but he was no match for me.
In one swift motion he raised his fist punching me right in the nose. My head slammed on the window of the car. "Mr. Johnson what are y-" tears formed at the corner of my eyes. "Goodnight angel" he remarked while pulling out a white cloth pressing it over my face. My eyelids became heavy, I lost all feeling of my arms and legs. I tried to fight but whatever he drugged me with was working well. After that, everything went black.
