Once upon a time, there was a little boy. This little boy always wanted real love. He dated the acclaimed hottest girl in school for a bit but, sadly , she dumped him. He thought after her he would never find love again. And he didn't, for a whole year, until the day that flipped his whole life upside down.

Once upon a time, there was a little girl. This little girl always wanted a true and honest love. She dated a boy that she thought was honest and true, but he wasn't at all. He made her very happy, and very sad at the same time. Sadly, he dumped her. She still loved him for a while. She thought she would never find love like that again, until the one day that changed her mind.

One day, the boy and girl went on a field trip with their 8th grade class together. They were very shy around each other, but their mutual friend pulled them together. They talked and they laughed, and had a very good time at the field trip. This was the first time they had actually talked and they knew, that day, that they liked one another. They continued to talk every day in their last two classes together. They exchanged numbers and social media and all of the sort. They remained friends for some time, but to them, I'm sure, it seemed too long. They texted every day after school, and they always had long, interesting, and quite hilarious conversations. They were quite the unbreakable pair. After a week or so, as they were talking, the subject of dating came up, and, as long awaited by both of them, they decided they were going to date. They were as good a couple as they were friends. And everyone knew it.

They were inseparable. They had such a strong love, even the strongest man in the world couldn't break them apart. They were exactly what both of them wanted. They were each other's dream. The boy took the girl to lunch and a movie, a few times, and the boy never let her pay, for he wanted to make a good impression on her, and let her know that he would take care of her, no matter what. They shared their first kiss, and soon after, intimacy followed, and, they still remained the same connection. They continued to kiss, go to movies, hang out, and cuddle. They were together for about 3 months, until one day, the girl was under too much stress. She said she only needed a break, until school started again, but the boy heard otherwise from another person, and the boy, foolishly, believed them. The boy went on and dated another girl. He left the little girl heartbroken, and he didn't even know it. For a month, the boy and the girl were both heartbroken, thinking the other didn't love them anymore. But the other girl, was the only reason the boy and the girl broke up in the first place. The girl started talking to the boy again, after a month, it was a relief to speak again, for both of them.

Soon after, the other girl the boy was dating, began to become irritated that the girl was back in the boys life. The other girl created an argument between the three. After a few days the boy broke up with her. He thought it would end the big altercation, but it didn't, it only made it worse. The other girl called the little girl names, went to social media and bullied her, and told all her friends rumors and lies. This went on for a long time. Nevertheless, The boy and the little girl were back together, and better than ever, and that's all that really mattered to them. They were stronger, as individuals, and were stronger as a couple. Together they battled the other girl and her friends and would not let her go on with her ways.

The other girl wouldn't stop, but the boy and the girl were okay, and finally together again, and they knew they would be for a long time, after a month of being apart, and dating other people, they still found a way back into each other's arms.

And it was then, that the boy and the girl, lived happily, forever, and after.

So they thought.

The girl would then endure a traumatic experience and pushed the boy away.
The boy wanted to help, but she wouldn't let him in. The boy felt like she had stopped loving him, since it was only him she ignored. They didn't see each other much outside their high school, not for 3 months. They slowly drifted apart, now not even so much as hugging on occasion. But to everyone else they were "cute" and "relationship goals", if only they knew what it was really like.

So, hours passed, days, weeks, she was still avoiding him. He felt lonely, this emptiness he felt was not normal, it was a dark empty, a void which would never be filled by anyone else. So he cried and purged and punched holes in his walls, waiting for a text or a call. He knows he needs to let go, she is making him sad, but in his heart he cannot do it. He tries over and over again, trying to change a lost little girl, but the sad truth is, nobody changes, not really.

He wanted her to stay so badly - so so badly, but she wouldn't stay. She came up with every excuse not to. He wanted her to stay. He only felt shut out and ignored and needed constant reassurance - he is a very weak boy, but very loving - but she did not give him that. He was too sad to do anything. He didn't go to school for a week. He just wanted her so much, he couldn't bear to be around her. He broke down and cried and purged himself into a severe state of depression - again. She didn't care. She never cared. Or maybe she did, but she didn't anymore. He wished, prayed, and dreamed for her to come back every night. He just couldn't bear the pain. He cut himself, he punched the walls, he tried to relieve the agony and anger but he just couldn't. Nothing he did could ever cure this constant emptiness he had inside.

He tried so hard to keep her. He tried so hard to make her stay. He tried so hard to make her see the pain. He tried so hard to make her understand what the constant fear of losing her was like for him. She never listened. How could she? He sounded so innocent and needy, how could she resist breaking such a pure heart? What comes around, goes around - that's a statement that catches my attention.

So he waited for her to apologize but she never did. This little boy here was me, and this little girl, was mine. As I look back on all the memories we had together, I do not cry because they ended, I'm glad I could make these memories. I cry because these moments are now empty, meaningless. She was - is - the love of my life, but the memories are meaningless because I can never take her back.

So here lies the prolonged end to the tale, the inevitable not-so-happy ever after, the hero doesn't get the girl, he gets the constant reminder that being young, is reckless, and a lesson well learned: True love will feel natural, and will never hate you for feeling shut out. So I guess this is where it ends, what happens to the girl? Well, why don't you ask her? She'll love to tell the story.

Wouldn't that be such a sad ending? No, the boy and girl continued to be friends. The boy was having a life crisis (already?), his life was slowly moving backwards, he was single, had few friends, the girl whom he hadn't spoken to in a year was back in his life, he was alone and walked around school constantly afraid of judgement. He finally got to the point where he was the day he met the girl. He had finally gotten to the point where he was what she fell for. Whatever lies ahead for them, is surely the best for them both.
