**Shane**
My phone rang on and on, urging me to answer. Before groaning I reached over to grab it, pausing my game.
"Hello?" My voice was scruffy and deep.
"Shane?! Is that you??!" I immediately sat up straight and cleared my throat, sending bowls of food sprawling.
"Ryhan?!! Yes, yes this is me... What's wrong? Are you ok??" I couldn't seem to get the words out of my mouth fast enough.
"I need a place to stay the night... Is that possible?"
"Yes... Why? Are you ok??"
"I'm fine. Just can't go home, it's a bad night. See you in 5?"
"See you in 5. Do you need a ride?" My voice still dripped with worry.
"Goodbye Shane."
"Ryha-" I cursed and tossed my phone as the line went deadly silent. I slipped on a raincoat and slipped onto the front porch to watch out for her.

**Ryhan**
I sat on the stiff mattress as I watched Shane walk in and close the door behind him. I watched him quietly as he cleared his throat and leaned over me. I held my breath and tightened my stomach.
"Start by telling me what happened." His voice told me I had no say but I couldn't speak with him standing like that, I didn't even know what he was doing. His elbow occasionally touched my arm, making me tense up again.
"Ryhan. Tell me, its ok." He cooed.
"Well, um... I, umm..." I lightly picked up his arm that was gripping my knee for balance with my index finger and thumb, moving it enough for me to get a comfortable distance away.
"My mother kicked me out because she's an unreasonable-" He whooped in triumph as he found the xbox controller he was looking for the whole time. I sighed.
"Oh I'm so sorry I didnt mean to cut you off! I was listening, continue. Your mother is an annoying...?" He looked at me as he retreated to his im-playing-xbox-and-eating-doritos beanbag. I just smiled because he wasn't into me.
"It was unreasonable," I looked at him with a slight annoyance as a quick "oh" popped from his concentrated face. "an unreasonable you-know-what."
"I see, ma'am. You know what you need?" He glanced at my face over his glasses. "You need a break!"
I rolled my eyes. "from?" I couldn't help but laugh at him as he stood up and muttered curse words as "GAME OVER" flashed on the blood-splattered screen.
"Everything"
"We both know what happened when I tried last time..." I murmered
He stood up and walked to me as tears piled up. I held it back with all my might but they spilled anyway.
"I didn't say permanent, Ryhan..." his face was lightly illuminated by the tv but I could tell his stern expression. He pulled me into his chest as I cried silently. I had never been attracted to him, he was like my brother and was there for me after my real brother died in a car accident; but I felt a strange attraction to him as I lay by him. The tv murmered softly in the background as he changed the channel.
