It was the beginning of fifth grade and my seat was next to a boy named joby. I sat behind one of my teachers who became one of my friends eventually and her name is Mrs. Lunasco. And the next day mrs. Lunasco asked me for my name and i told her Erika, she said that she likes me because I looked like a good girl. This one day was the day I thought would change my life forever. Almost the whole class moved seats but I got moved to the back of the class next to a girl. We both introduced ourselves to each other. And we somehow we became friends by saying hi. So we hung out at every recess and talked about random things. And a month later my friend from fourth grade, Mallory started talking to me more but I didn't really like her. So I really only had one friend and her name was Jessica. We all got closer from Facebook. So the next month me, Jessica, and Mallory were the best of friends, but still not really Mallory. So that month there was a field trip we had at camp erdman and us three and a girl named Alyssa were partners, but mostly me and Jessica and it was Mallory and Alyssa. And it was the best field trip ever. Then a few months passed and there was a science pbl (project base learning). My partners were: Jessica, Alyssa, Mealoha, and Thomas. The whole fifth grade was doing their projects on the human body system. My group did our project on the digestive system. And me and Jessica was afraid to be mean but we actually had to do some yelling at Mealoha cuz she would disrespect us and not listen. Our group project turned out to be the best of the class. And all the fifth graders who was presenting the projects were acting mental when the other classes weren't there. And as the year went along me and Jessica started not liking Mallory again because she would hang out with the people we called haters so in our eyes she became one of them. But as the year started getting closer to the end Mallory mostly hung out with us now but I came up with the idea of JEM (Jessica, Erika, Mallory) but my mom came up with the idea of JEMS (Jessica, Erika, Mallory, Sisters) and it was the name of her group before. So then it was almost spring festival, and we signed up to be on spring court. And only me and Jessica got in. And Mallory had to perform with all the other fifth graders who didn't get in. We did hula and they did all kinds of dances. The fifth graders danced: waltz, chicken dance, thriller, Billie jean, ice ice baby, dougie, gangnam style, party rock, the can't touch this song thingy, cat daddy, single ladies, and I think dats all. And it was the day before the last day and Jessica decided to give her leis out and while we were watching a movie (the hunger games) me and Jessica were making a card for the fifth grade teachers and eating candy from my lei, but Mallory was absent because she was sick, but we video chatted with her, and we got to sing. And finally on the last day we had the assembly so we did the ukulele performance and they gave out the certificates. And when we went back to the class me and Jessica showed the fifth grade teachers the card which all fifth graders signed, they all loved it. And Jessica gave me a frame and I got two letters. But this summer JEMS got infinity signs, ∞JEMS∞ and we got closer.
