As he went out of home, walking down the stairs, his phone rang. An unknown number was calling. Joseph answered. Minutes later, the call was disconnected. Joseph was astonished! It was his old friend. After they had a great fight against each other two years ago, they didn’t meet. And now that he called to invite him at his house. That sounded weird, he thought.

Joseph went to his place anyway. They shook hands and sat together for a while. His friend told him to call on a number. He said that it was his uncle, he called him a lot but no one answered so maybe if an unknown number called, he will answer.

Joseph typed the number on his phone and pressed “OK”. A woman’s voice answered, “Who are you, and what do you want?” He asked her if he can talk his friend’s uncle, but she refused! She said that he shouldn’t have called on this number and the one whom he wanted to talk with is so dangerous and that Joseph was in danger now. She also said that Joseph shouldn’t have known this number or that person will be in danger too.

She continued, “We are going to give you poisonous syringe that erases everything in your memory, so you will forget what happened.” Joseph told her that no need for any syringe and will forget what she had told him. But she insisted on giving him that poisonous syringe and they will not leave him unless he takes the syringe.

The call was disconnected as his friend took out a syringe from his bag but Joseph hit his hand and the syringe fell on the floor. Joseph hit him hardly and took the syringe; put it in him until he fainted. Joseph got out of the house and ran all the way to his trusted friend so that he can protect him. On his way he saw his beloved girl Jasmine. He walked with her and took a hat from her to put on. Joseph told jasmine everything happened to him. As they reached his friends house and sat on the balcony, Joseph told Jasmine to go home. She didn’t want to go anywhere but stay with him, but he insisted. So she felt so sad and left after she hugged him and cried. Joseph didn’t mean to hurt her, he just want her to be safe. He stayed in his friend’s house two days.

On that morning, his friend woke him up quickly telling him that they caught Jasmine and if Joseph didn’t go to them in less than one hour, they are going to kill her. Joseph got angry and didn’t know what to do, he was completely complicated. Tears went out of his eyes. His friend told him to hurry up and go, crying will solve nothing!

Joseph called that number again and took the address. He took his brother and his car and they went to save Jasmine. As they arrived, they saw two men standing beside Jasmine; one on the left, the other on the right. The one on the left was holding a pistol directing it to Jasmine’s head. Another man came he looked so gentle. He said to Joseph, “Listen boy either you come with us and take the syringe and you all go home or we’re going to kill you after you see your innocent baby dying.” Joseph couldn’t bare that, he thought of everything; his parents, friends and his life he was going to lose everything he own. In that moment his eyes met Jasmine’s eyes, they both could see the pain in each other’s eyes.

The man said, “Take your decision, there is no time to think, I’m going to count till ten after that there will be no decision and I will kill her! ... 1 … 2”

Joseph looked at Jasmine as he looked at his brother. He remembered what happened that morning, his friend did all this to get revenge from him.

   “… 5”

He didn’t want to lose his whole life neither to let his beloved ones to die. That was the hardest decision ever! He thought.

   “…7”

He looked at Jasmine; tears were getting out of her shiny eyes like arrows toward the inside of his chest. He knew she was afraid of what will happen if he chose her death. His life would be miserable. He loved her so much and didn’t want him to be the reason for her death. He preferred to save her and he came to that place to save her and nothing else.

   “…9”

“Take me and leave Jasmine alone,” Joseph said.

The man told the guards to leave Jasmine and take him instead, but Joseph said, “May you please let me talk to Jasmine a little bit?” The man agreed.

Joseph came close to Jasmine put his arm around her and said, “Jasmine my love I’m so sorry for everything and I’m sorry that I lied.”

“You didn’t lie, you never lied to me, ever.” Tears dropped down.

“I did. Do you remember the moment I told you that I will never forget you?” His eyes sparkled.

   “Yes I do remember!”

“Now I will.” He hugged her tight and felt every single word and promise he said once about not leaving her. He both cried with pain into their throat.

“No, you will not forget me. I’ll stay with you all my life and let you know who I am,” she cried more and more. He looked in her eyes hoping he will not forget that attractive face. He kissed her cheek and forehead. Joseph went to his brother hugged him and asked I he could forgive him for every bad thing he had done. Joseph said to him, “Tell mom and dad that I love them so much and I’m sorry that I’m going to forget the most amazing family I had ever seen!”

“Don’t worry bro, you are not going to forget anyone. I’ll spend all my time to let you know everything you would have known before.”

Josef walked away as he was staring at his love Jasmine until he faded…
