I woke up feeling kind of weird one morning. I didn’t know why though.  It wasn’t bad.  It was the middle of the week so I wasn’t too blah. It wasn’t exactly good either. Considering I had to go to school. I mean it had gotten better. Not many people cared to notice my existence so it gave me more time to keep to myself and not fall into the trap of high school. I’m not saying that anyone who goes to high school is victim to the ways of High School. Well, I am kind of. Not everyone falls into the drama and lies of High School love, friendship, and clicks.

Sure there is love in High School. But most of it is just teenagers looking for someone to lust about. Very rarely there are those two people who like each other for the other person.  Now friendship? There is friendship. There is also drama in friendship too. ‘Someone said something about someone else.’ It’s all just confusing and stupid honestly. If someone isn’t being a good friend, stop hanging out with them. That simple. People just feed off drama. It gives excitement to their boring lives.

I had friends back home who don’t deal with that kind of stuff. That was why I was friends with them mostly. Also because they didn’t care what other people thought about them, and they were pretty fun to hang out with.

I decided to walk to school that day. Being on a bus that early in the morning didn’t really intrigue me very much. I liked to walk to school so I could think about things. Like how I was going to avoid that guy Cody. He may have been nice and cute, but I wasn’t about to fall for that.

During first hour I overheard some people talk about a party that was going to happen in about a month. Why would people be talking about a party that isn’t going to happen in another month or so? It made no sense.

Throughout the whole day people were talking non-stop about that party. What was the big deal? So, some teenagers would go to it and possibly beer would be there. People would get drunk and do stupid stuff. Didn’t sound amusing to me at all. If I did go, which I didn’t think was going to happen, then I wouldn’t drink. So, that meant that I would be the sober one out of a lot of drunken teens.

Mashed potatoes and some kind of meat was on my tray that day. The meat looked like something scraped off the road. I mean cafeteria food can be gross, but this was just ridiculous. I stirred up my food and decided not to try and eat it. At that very moment I heard a tray sit down next to me.

A girl with long curly blonde hair and brown eyes looked right at me with an out-stretched hand.

Random Chick-“Hi, my name is Lacy. I noticed you sitting all by yourself and thought that you might want someone to sit with you so you don’t look so lonely.”

Me-“Hi. I’m not lonely. I just prefer not to sit with people I don’t know.”

Pocket Full of Sunshine-“Oh, well that’s why I’m here. If you know me, then we can sit together.”

Annoyed me-“I don’t know you. All I know is that your name is Lacy and you are very perky. Which I am not. This means we probably wouldn’t get along very well. So will you please leave me alone?”

Annoyed Lacy-“Well sorry miss doomsday. I thought you looked like you needed someone to talk to. I mean it’s not like you’re going to make any friends looking all…. Well you.”

She stormed off to some other table like she didn’t come over to me. I didn’t want to be mean, but she was probably just talking to me because someone made her do it. She turned out snobby towards the end. The words she said didn’t really affect me. I mean they kind of hurt, but not to where I’m going to be depressed about it.

When I thought I wouldn’t be bothered the rest of lunch I felt someone standing behind me. My luck it would be some other person trying to befriend me. Not that it was bad, it was just annoying for people to class me into someone who needed help making friends or a basket case who needed someone to talk to.

Deep similar voice-“Hey Allie.”

You have got to be kidding me. Super boy was behind me.-“Hey.”

“Do you care if I sit with you?”

“Well, I can’t exactly stop you, can I?”

He grabs a chair right next to me-“So how have you been.”

I scoot away a little.-“Good I guess. Why?”

“Just wondering. Is it a crime to ask a very pretty girl how she is?”

Oh my. He just had to add that in.-“It might be in some countries. You never know.”

He laughed-“You’re right. It might be. But I’m glad it’s not illegal in this one.”

Okay he was kind of cute and yes I was sort of flirting back.-“So, why aren’t you sitting with your friends?”

He looked around-“I thought I already was sitting with one of my friends?”

Oh the cheesiness-“You think we’re friends? Okay think what you want.”

“You so want to be my friend. You know it. You just won’t say it.”

I got up to go dump my tray.-“And how exactly do you know this? I haven’t said anything about it.”

Of course he followed-“I know because I’m just that awesome. Didn’t we discuss my super human abilities in class? I know you want to be my friend because I can read minds.”

I dumped my tray and started walking to my locker.-“Oh, you can read minds? That is such a kid thing to say. If you could read my mind what am I thinking right now?

He put his hand on his chin and leaned on the locker next to mine.-“You are thinking that you wish I would walk you to class even though I am slightly annoying you.”

He was dead on…. Wait. No. Bad Allie.-“Well, you have half of that statement right.”

“Ouch, that hurt. You know you are a hard nut to crack.”

I think he just called me crazy.-“I hope you didn’t mean I am crazy.”

He kept on following me to class.-“Oh, I didn’t mean it like that. I just meant that you’re hard to figure out.”

Like I didn’t know?-“I knew what you meant, smart one. I was kidding.”

“You know, you may act mean and all that, but I bet you wouldn’t hurt a fly.”

He had no idea.-“Well, you think what you want. Me on the other hand? I am going to class. Bye Cody.”

He just stood in the hall and wave bye to me.-“Bye Allie. See you around.” Then he walked off.

Cody….why did you have to talk to me? This was making things very difficult.
