“Explain what Andrei?” I shot back not really understanding what my brother was going at

“Why you are here when you are supposed to be halfway across the world, or the fact that you just spoke to my kidnapper like you know him or the fact that your eyes just changed colour right before me.”

“Why don’t we just untangle the web of lies I see coming or why don’t you just tell me that this is all a misunderstanding and we could just go home” I continued “either way I want the truth Andrei. I am not a little girl anymore”

Andrei clearly had not been expecting that outburst considering his stance had deflated and his eyes held surprise more than any other emotion. Well he’s not the only one who didn’t expect that since neither did I, it must be the fact that I am hangry and confused but my mind has gone into a no bullshi*t zone having had registered a while ago that this was more than just a kidnapping and somehow my brother was involved.

I need answers

“Explain Andrei” I prompted coolly putting up a wall of defiance that I had become so skilled at after living with a rather protective mother

“Let us get inside and speak civilly Viktoriya we don’t want to cause a scene” he said a little defeated by my outburst

“You had no problem with causing a scene a few minutes ago when you barreled here like a mad dog on steroids” I spat out the adrenaline still pumping through my veins

“Enough Vikka I am trying here” he said coldly straightening his spine and hardening his eyes into a glare that was upon none other than me.

“The show is over leave us” Mason interrupted our banter directing his voice to the group of guys who now stood a bit more awkwardly behind us than before. They began heading in a different direction leaving just Mason, Jason, Connor, my brother and I-his buddies having retreated back into their SUVs-for the first time since my brother got here Mason addressed him.

“Alpha, I apologize for how things were handled I agree that is was not how I should’ve addressed the situation, we have much to discuss and I’d rather us sit down and do it in civil manner” he said his face concrete solid, his shoulders levelled and his voice flat succeeding in portraying no emotion what so ever.

“Very well Alpha” My brother replied in the exact same tone. What the fudge just happened! “Vikka let us go inside and I will try and explain the whole truth to you, the question is are you ready to hear it” Andrei said, his eyes boring into mine no longer with a glare but with a look that held an immense amount of depth and meaning that I was certain I would soon come to understand.

“Like I have already said I am not a little girl anymore Andrei, I am ready for whatever it is” I said standing my ground

“I surely hope so” he murmured making his way past me and towards the house

Ignoring his jab I followed quietly until Mason my brother and I were all seated in the lounge. Looking pointedly at my brother I patiently waited for him to start speaking.

“When I turned 16” Andrei started slowly “I started having these changes in my body. My eyesight became inhumanely extraordinary, my hearing became extremely sharp along with my other senses taste, smell and touch everything became amplified” he paused as if gathering his thoughts

“I became tremendously strong too but along with the sudden gifts came infinite responsibility. On the first full moon after these perks-so to say-developed I went through an excruciating change most call the first shift” he explained completely engrossed in him own words as if reliving them

“A shift into what exactly” I asked him a little more nervous than when he started telling the story.

He chuckled darkly then continued “A wolf, one of the animal world’s most fearsome natural villains and most legendary because of their spine-tingling howls”

“Like a Teen Wolf type of wolf or like a Vampire Diaries type of thing” I asked my brother seriously trying to get a sense of this whole thing

“What the hell is a Teen Wol-” my brother attempted to scold but got interrupted by a voice behind me “Like a Vampire diaries type of wolf but way bigger”. I turned my neck back to find a tall girl that looked more or less around my age. She has platinum blonde hair that almost touches her but and blue eyes that sparkle with mischief…she looks like she should be in a Victoria Secret fashion show.

“The name’s Katya but most people just call me Kat” she continued, thrusting her hand towards me.

“I figured I might as well introduce myself since my douche of a brother didn’t bother with the formalities” Kat said, shaking my hand rather firmly, while glaring at Mason who I now know is the supposed brother.

Mason groaned “It was a rushed discovery Katty nothing personal” he said while looking at her apologetically

Looks like I’m not the only one with big brother issues

“Wait” I muttered “what discovery?” I asked curiously

“You have not told her” Katya stated sounding shocked while I was still once again out of the loop.

“Tell me what? Spit it out Mason” I demanded focusing my gaze on him alone

“Perhaps you have enough information for today Aly there is no rush we can continue this conversation tomm-” he tried explaining but I cut him off

“Stop with the sugarcoating and the half-truths I am not five years old I can comprehend things I am done trying to play nice it’s either you tell me the truth or nothing at all I do not need to sit here listening to you guys beating around the bush the whole time I need the damn straight truth” I said almost panting at the end

“Okay Alyona the truth is that I kidnapped you and brought you here because we’re mates” he said carefully

“What!” I yelled out right after he finished his sentence “Damnit I thought all this sh*t was only in the books I read” I muttered to myself afterwards
