Clara's POV
I was awake at 6:30 am, like every morning, making the lunches for the kids I nannied. And every morning at 6:45, John Smith, the father of the children, rushes downstairs heading for work.
I was closing up the last baggie of chips before rolling them up in a paper bag. I soon heard heavy footsteps coming down the stairs and looked over at the clock and it read 6:44 am. Right on schedule.
In walked John, as he attempted to fix his bow tie.
"Good morning Mr. Smith," I said and he barely looked up at me, too interested in his bow tie.
"Yes good morning," he groaned frustrated. I smiled to myself and went over to him.
"Here, let me help," I said taking his failed attempt off.
"Thank you Clara, I've been so busy lately with work and," he paused with hesitation,"wedding planning," he finished as I looped the last part through.
"Oh I'm always here if you need me, well I unless I'm out," I joked with him. We're close, I have been working for him for about 1 year and so I'm allowed to joke around with him that way, and I'm really the only adult figure he can talk to without calling his Barbie doll of a fiancée Lily James.
"Well, I've got to go to work, I'll be home around 7," he said scurrying out the door. I soon began to cook breakfast.
Halfway through making the scrambled eggs I heard the grumbling of the kids. The trudged into the kitchen and fell into the chairs.
"Why good morning!" I said cheerfully,"how'd you sleep?" I asked them serving some bacon.
"Didn't sleep at all, Daddy and Lily were making funny noises all night," complained Cassandra (we call her Cassie).
I internally groaned. If she was here last night and they were having sex she definitely was here this morning.
"Oh so she's here this morning?" I asked them and they all groaned.
"Sadly the who-" began Jason and I gave him a stern 'not around the children' look and he G rated his sentence. "Mean woman is here," he fixed his sentence and you could tell by the look on Aria's face she was about to bust out laughing at what he was going to say. And I have to admit, Lily's kind of a whore.
"Guess I'll have to make some organic shakes or whatever the crap she drinks," I teased and they all snickered. We all share a hatred for Lily. I wonder if John notices it and ignores it, or just flat out doesn't know.
"They were so loud, I could hear her yelling 'JOHN!' over and over again," complained Ryan.
"Yeah, that's called having sex," said Aria and my eyes widened in horror. Most of, actually all of (with the exception of Aria and Jason) are to young to know about sex.
"Aria, why don't you go get dressed," I said trying to avoid that conversation.
"What sex?" Asked LeAnne and I panicked.
"Aria, go get dressed," I said tensely. She stood up and began to make her way out of the room.
"Sex is when two people love eachother and they remove their cl-" she began.
"Room! Dressed! Now! No talking!" I yelled up at her. Jason stifled a laugh.
"So Daddy and Lily love eachother?" Hudson asked sadly. The look in his eyes made your heart melt.
"Yes, that's why she's going to become your new mummy," I said to him. His next comment shocked me.
"I don't want her as my new mummy, I want you to be our new mummy," he said and they mumbled in agreement. I stayed silent continuing to serve the food when suddenly a beast with a big blonde mane walked in.
Oh wait, that's Lily.
She yawned and sat in one of the dining chairs. I could see everyone scoot their chairs away from her and I probably would've done the same.
"Good morning Lily!" I said, trying to be cheerful. And ignoring the fact that her future step children didn't just call her a whore and wanted me to be their mum.
"It's Miss James to you, servant!" She snapped and everyone looked at her like she was crazy, well except for me.
"Don't snap at Clara like that," LeAnne said defensively.
"Yeah, she can call you whatever she wants," said Cassie.
"Don't you talk to your future step mother that way," Lily scolded.
"She's a better mother than you will ever be!" Yelled Jason before he got up, slammed his chair to the table and stalked upstairs. I stood there speechless and Lily looked over at me with angry eyes.
If looks could kill, I'd be dead.
"Kids go upstairs and get ready for school, we leave in 25," I say and they stay glued to the chairs.
"Now!" I exclaim and they all hustle upstairs. Sighing I begin to clean their almost untouched food. Lily looks at me and slams the table with her hands making me jump.
"Are you trying to make the kids hate me!?" She yells at me and I wince trying not to panic.
"No, of course not Miss James," I say quickly as she gets all up in my face.
"Well, once I marry John you won't be needed anymore," she says snapping her fingers,"poof, gone from our lives," she snaps before leaving me standing frozen, after what she had said.
