Chapter 1:  My Life

       I always thought that I would eventually have a happy ending, but now I know that won’t happen. I lost all hope of that 2 years ago when my parents died in a rogue attack, leaving me and my sister Maggie living in the pack house, with no other family but each other. The saddest part is that we were once so close, basically twins, and now we are complete opposites. My one chance at happiness will be next week on my 16th birthday, when I will hopefully find my mate to take away all this pain.

       A slap to the face broke me out of my trance.  “What were you thinking?! Are you trying to make me look bad?!  I need a SALAD not freaking French toast! It has like 500 calories!” Maggie screamed in my face.  I hurriedly went back into the kitchen and made a simple salad with fruit and replaced it for the French toast. “Finally you do something right!” I bowed my head slightly and rushed up to my room (the attic). Well I guess you’re wondering who I am, I'm Annabelle I'm a 15 year old she wolf only I don’t shift till I find my mate on my 16th birthday. I have long dark brown hair that ends at my shoulders and grey-blue colored eyes I'm very skinny because I'm not allowed to eat every day. My sister Maggie is my same age but has blonde hair with green eyes and a perfect body with curves in all the right places. She is also dating the future alpha, Mason, who leads my bullying with my sister. I look out my tiny window realizing it was already night time. Wow I guess time flies. I change into a large shirt that belonged to my dad and got into my “bed” which is really an ancient mattress and a very thin blanket and waited for sleep to take me.
