Chapter 2

I was sleeping until someone was tapping my shoulder. I opened my eyes and I was met with the old lady who sat next to me.

"Oh I'm sorry to wake you but we are landing." She said scared as if I was going to yell at her.

I yawned and said "Thank you for waking me up."

She looked at me and smiled. "Why are you coming to California?" She asked.

"I'm moving here" I told her.

"Oh, really! I'm visiting my daughter for the rest of the year." She said. "My daughter has a son that looks around your age. What school are you attending?" She asked.

"I think it's California High School." I said unsure.

"That's the school he goes to!" She whispered yelled getting a little too excited. "You have to meet him. He's such a sweetheart. Your a sweetheart too."

"Thank you." I said giggling.

We stayed quiet until she started talking to herself saying "I am so rude I didn't even ask for her name."

I didn't want her to feel bad so I said "I am so rude I didn't even ask for your name."

She laughed probably thinking that I read her mind.

"My name is Rosa." She said smiling.

We stayed quiet again until she started talking about her grandson again.

"I'm going to tell my grandson about you so you guys can become friends." She said excitedly.

I don't need friends. I don't even want friends.

"Okay." I said awkwardly. I didn't want to be rude and say I didn't want to be friends with her grandson.

"Are you with anyone?" She asked.

"What?" I asked her confused on what she is trying to ask me.

"Do you have a-"

"We have landed everyone. So please make your way to the exit." Someone said from the speaker interrupting Rosa.

Rosa got up from the seat and turned to me. "Goodbye..."

"Elizabeth. Sorry I didn't tell you my name earlier." I said embarrassed.

"You have a beautiful name." She said smiling.

"Thank you." I said shyly.

"Bye Elizabeth. I hope I can get to see you soon." She said waving.

"Nice meeting you Rosa. Have a good night sleep." I said waving back.

"You too." She said walking towards the exit.

When Rosa left. My mom was walking towards me.

"You made a new friend?" She said.

"Yep. Hopefully my only friend." I said.

We walked out the plane and grabbed our little bags we brought just in case the moving truck doesn't get to our house tomorrow morning.

We walked outside and found a taxi. We got in and gave the man our address to our new house.

"You're going to love our new house. Its a little bigger than our old house." My mom whispered.

Our old house was average. I don't even know why my mom bought a bigger house if it was only us two.

"The total will be $20." The man said. He looked so bored and tired. I felt bad for him. We gave him the money and got out.

I looked at my new home and let me tell you I felt my whole jaw drop to the ground.

"Told ya." My mom said grabbing her little bag and ran to the door to unlock it.

I ran after her and when I was almost at the door. She shut the door almost closing it on my hand.

I knocked the door. "Mommakins open the door please." I said sweetly.

"Nevaaa!" She yelled.

I laughed and said "Okay, bye." I started to pretend I was walking away. She opened the door widely and I ran in making her fall on her butt.

"Heyyy." She said "Help me up."

"Hay are for horses." I said laughing.

I started to walk around the ground floor. Looking around to get use to it. I walked around for 20 minutes until I felt like I was lost.

"Mom!" I yelled. I heard giggling behind me. I turned around and looked at my mom and yelled.

"What the hell you were looking at me. Why did you yell." She asked laughing.

I shrugged and asked her "Can you show me where my room is? I'm tired"

"Okay follow me" she said and started walking up the stairs. We got to the hallway and I saw 4 doors. She went to the the second door on the right and opened it.

"This is your new room." She said. "My room is across from yours." She smiled tiredly.

"Goodnight mother." I said yawning.

"Night Butterfly. You start your first day of school tomorrow." She said.

I groaned and closed my room door.

There was a new bed in here, bigger than my older one. I climbed on the new bed and shut my eyes.

Hopefully this school is better than my other schools.
