Leaving the Plane

We're finally about to land in Arkansas. It's been over two hours, and we're finally here! Evan looked upset, probably because he would miss me.... Not. How could he even like a girl like me?

Thank you for riding, and the plane will be landing in ten minutes. Please buckle your seatbelt. Thank you!

The women said through the speaker. I looked out the window, seeing the plane getting closer to the ground. It was a real bummer that I couldn't see Evan. I mean, I'll see him, we both are living in Florida, but we're landing in Arkansas. And who knows how long I'm gonna be there.

"S-So, are you exited?" I asked Evan. He looked at me. "For what?" He asked. "Going to Arkansas. Won't it be fun?" I asked. He shrugged. "I don't know. It's really just gonna be my mom and I. After my dad had died, it hasn't been that much fun." He said. His dad died?

"I'm so sorry. What happened to your dad?" I asked. I could tell he wanted to cry, but didn't. "He.. He got in a car accident." He said. "Oh man. I'm sorry." I said again. "It's not your fault. He was never there in the first place. Always leaving me and my mom, like we weren't important to him anymore. He wasn't there whenever I needed him." He said.

After the flight landed, I got off the plane. When I walked out, I saw my family waiting for me. I also saw Evan at the corner of an eye looking at me, with a blonde-haired woman standing next to him. I'm pretty sure that's his mom.

Evan slowly started walking towards me. When he reached me, he smiled. "So, I-I'll see you.. Um-" "Y-Yeah, I'll see you later.." I cut him off. "Yeah, um.." He tried hugging me, while I reached my hand out to shake his. Then, he switched and tried to shake my hand, while I switched and tried hugging him. After an awkward moment, we both just fist bumped, and he walked away.

I can't believe that happened!
