Chapter 8~~ The Groups°•♤♢

Erza's POV♤♤

Staring at the board in my hands, I think of something to make things more fun. Today we're going hiking, but some things still need to be prepared and looked into. Not wanting to tire everyone out, there should be some kind of fun during this camping.

"Good morning Erza. Up so early?" I spun around when I heard the familiar voice which came from beside me.

It's Jellal.

"Yes." I replied shortly, avoiding eye contact. "What are you planning?" He asked and I shrugged. "Thinking how to make hiking to be more.. fun so everyone will enjoy. It's my responsibility after all." He hummed in response, before he snapped his fingers making me to jump slightly.

"How about making them in groups? There will be both boys and girls-"

"-and then make a competition!" I finished his sentence, now a bit of hope sparkling inside me. "Yes." He agreed, nodding. "Thank you, Jellal," I told him truthfully. He just shrugged, not minding it a bit.

After an hour or so, everyone was already up, crowding near the river. I told them about the groups, and about what we were doing today.

"To make everything fun, we'll be dividing into groups and will make a competition." I announced and some cheers were heard. I smirked. They think that they can make groups themselves, do they?

"I'll be announcing the groups!" Groans were heard here and there but the teacher's didn't mind one bit.

"Groups will consist of 4 or more people. If you here your name, come to me and I'll give you a card to show your groups. The group will lasts for the whole trip." I cleared my throat, looking at the board in my hand again. "First group, Natsu Dragneel."

"I'm all fired up!!" The idiot shouted, and I shook my head in exaperation.

"Lucy Heartfilia!" The new girl came up, standing beside the idiot. "Woah, we're the same team Luigi!" Natsu said.

"It's Lucy!" The girl answered, probably mad. The idiot laughed and I just shook my head. Idiots will always be idiots...

"Gray Fullbuster!"

"What I'm with flame brain?" Gray came up and I handed him the card. "What did you just call me, Ice princess?" Natsu taunted as they began to fight. I shook my head, again, as I went over and slam their heads against each other. "Stop it, you fools."

"And the last member is me." I announced. The group needed someone to control the idiots.

"The next group is, Gajeel Redfox." Murmurs rose within the crowd, as the supposedly gangster of FTH came up. Even though he's the gangster or not, I can still take him in a one-on-one match.

I handed him a card of his team, that wrote his teammates' phone numbers. It was on every group's card.

"Levy McGarden." The short bluenette came up, and Gajeel smirked. I raised an eyebrow. "We're in the same group, squirt."

"Who're you calling a squirt?" Levy taunted back, Gajeel just smirked in response.

"Juvia Lockser." The blue haired girl came up, smiling sweetly at me. She was a really nice girl, always so optimistic and cheery. I smiled back, handing her a card. I put Jellal in their group, so as to watch Gajeel from doing something bad.

I announced the other groups, and there weren't much protests, which wasn't what I expected. At least the groups went well.

Lucy's POV♢♢

The rule was pretty simple, really. We will all be hiking up the mountain, and the first person who reached there first is the winner, as well as that person's group.

What wasn't simple, was Natsu's continuous taunting that he will get there first, and Gray saying that he will. We're all in the same group, I mean what's the big deal?

I just stood beside the two of them, sighing. "Such kids." Erza muttered beside me, as she went over and stop their fighting the same way she did before; banging their heads against each other.

"Lucy!" I nearly shrieked when a loud voice called my name. I looked ahead to see Natsu and Gray in front of me. "So? Who do you think will get there first?"

"E-etto..." I was seriously at a loss for words. I didn't know what to say. "So?" Natsu asked again. I think you will. Did I just seriously think that? What is wrong with me?

"Erza would!" I pointed at Erza, who was having a conversation with Mira-sensei. Natsu pouted, and Gray 'hmph'-ed.

Am.. am I really going to be in this group until the end of camp?
