Eren x Reader ~ "Coffee"

You sit down at your wooden table in your bedroom, in the Scouting Legion's castle, a cup of warm (coffee choice) coffee in your hand. Next to you sits a bottle of alcohol, which you spiked your coffee with to give you a sense of relaxation and comfort on this cold Autumn day.

"(Y/N)," Eren walks into your room, a broad smile plastered on his face.

"Mm," Your eyes look up from your coffee cup.

"(Y/N)!!!" Eren snaps, noticing the slender bottle, running over to you.

He pulls the cup out of your clasp, snatching it causing it to leak on your hand burning it, and he smashes it against the wall, followed by a loud smash of porcelain.

The coffee trickles down the wall and stains it, and you give Eren a look of panic and fright.

"NOW LOOK WHAT YOU MADE ME DO!" He roared, taking a step closer to you.

Your heart began to race, Eren frightened you when he got angry. Tears stung the back of your eyes.

"I'm sorry, Eren," you choked, getting out of your chair and taking a step back, towards the coffee stained wall.

Eren had been your boyfriend for over 18 months now, but you felt he got too overprotective of you after he nearly lost you on a mission nearly 6 months ago. He knew how dark your past was, and he loved you dearly...but sometimes...

"(Y/N), " He said slightly calmer, taking his right hand and placing it on your shoulder.

You felt comfort in his hand, warmth, weight...

"(Y/N) why are you shaking? What's wrong-" He voice raised again.

You took a step back and leaned against the wall for support. You gasped for air as you were pinned against it.

"(Y/N)!" He shouted.

A tear leaked from your panicked face. After what you had seen in your past you had a lack of trust.

Eren stopped and looked to his right, over into your full length mirror to see what you saw.

"(Y/N)..." He whispered. "I love you...I want to protect you. I'm only doing this because I love you. I know, I probably frighten you sometimes...but I...don't want to do things they did to you, be seen as one of them."

You rubbed your eyes. You were being silly.

"Eren," You murmured, burying your face into his chest. As much as you were worried how he'd react to your sudden movements you prayed he would take in your hug as an apology. You heard his heartbeat. It was unusually fast.

"Eren, are you okay?" You look up to see tears cascading down his cheeks.

He sniffled a bit a covered his eyes, wiping away the remaining tears.

"I just...didn't realise how much I frightened you...you must of thought I was like-"

"Shhh..." You press your index finger on his warm lips.

"You were protecting me," You corrected him. "I was being silly," You admitted, looking down at the floor.

"No," Eren choked. "I was being like...one of them..."

You rested your head against his chest again, feeling the warmth of it against your cheek.
