"I want you to catch that thrush," Russetfur meowed angling her ears towards a thrush that sold on the branches. "Without doing anything too risky,"

Sparkpaw rolled her eyes and looked up at where the thrush was sitting. Sparkpaw grabbed a twig in her jaws throwing it at the tree behind the thrush. The thrush squawked flying close to Sparkpaw. Sparkpaw shot out hooking it's feathers in her claws and killing it with a bite to its neck. Sparkpaw looked over at Russetfur triumphantly.

"Well done," Russetfur meowed. "Let's go back to camp,"

"Already?" Sparkpaw complained. "I've been training for four moons, can't you send me on a solo task or something?"

"Yes," Russetfur respond. "You can clean out the Elders den,"

"Too bad Thornpaw cleaned out the Elders den! Ha!" Sparkpaw poked her tongue out at her mentor.

Russetfur hissed in annoyance. Sparkpaw pulled a face and ran off back to camp. Sparkpaw looked over at her sister Cinderpaw who was holding a flower in her jaws. Sparkpaw raced over.

"Hi Cinderpaw!" Sparkpaw purred to her sister. "Is that a herb or just a normal flower? Never mind, anyway you won't believe what just happened! I was like-" Sparkpaw stopped. "You aren't listening are you?"

Cinderpaw looked up. "Hmmm? Oh sorry Sparkpaw. I'm sure what you were saying was interesting. I was just thinking about me training,"

Yeah right.

Feeling bored Sparkpaw spotted Bravestar. The Shadowclan leader was talking to Whiskertail.

"Are you looking at Bravestar?" Thistlepaw asked. The grey and silver apprentice fluffed out her fur. "Silvermist told me no one's ever managed to sneak up on her blind side before,"

"I bet I can!" Sparkpaw boasted. "I'll show you!"

Sparkpaw headed behind Bravestar's den acting casual. She slinked forward. Sparkpaw crept out her Mother's blind side facing her. Bravestar's ear twitched and she froze suddenly. Sparkpaw yowled jumped onto her. Bravestar knocked Sparkpaw away.

"Don't ever do that again!" Bravestar cried.

Sparkpaw faced her boldly. There was shock and fear in Bravestar's eyes. The Shadowclan leader let her fur lie flat.

"Sorry Sparkpaw," she meowed. "I don't like it when cats come up if I can't see them,"

"That was the point," Sparkpaw meowed. "Thistlepaw said no one's ever come up on your blindside. I was trying to prove her wrong,"

Bravestar smiled. "You have a way to go yet,"

Someday I'll be a better warrior then anyone! At least I won't have a bossy mentor anymore.
