My eyes flickered open while my hand made its way to my pain striken head. I glanced around the unfamiliar room while attempting to get rid of the throbbing that was rattling my brain around.
My surrounding looked unfamiliar . It looked like a somewhat ordinary living room. The walls a peachy cream color, a vase of fresh flowers on the table and framed photos up on the walls. What was I doing here?
My thoughts racked my brain for a source of answers. I heard a yawn coming from behind me .
"Oh great you're up!" A black haired guy said as he started towards me. He had some sort of french accent His eyes bared a deep blue color. His figure tall and fit but not overbearing. My thoughts began to loose itself amongst his intense looking eyes. It was as if it bared some sort of untold mystery .
"Who .. who are you?" I snapped out of my thought and got up abruptly from the couch I was on.
"I'm Sean. Agent Sean Riley." I shot him a confused look
"An agent??"
"You don't remember a thing do you?"
"The only think I remember, emm Sean is my parents telling me never to trust strangers, when I was younger" I inched toward the table and grabbed the vase
"Don't you dare take a step closer" I tried to sound threatening but it came out as a squeal of fright
"Or what , you're going to plant flowers on me" He chuckled. I truly didnt admire sarcasm
"Don't mock me. My dad will be looking for me , he'll be here any minute " I said
"Easy there ! I'm on your side" He said as he reached for something in his pocket
"Not an inch" I shouted
"Relax, I'll show you my badge" He quickly reached into his pocket, before I could refuse
There it was. Special Agent Sean Riley of the Central Intelligence Agency. It was true. His badge proved it. But what was I doing in an agents living room, completely blank of the past events. A part of me couldnt forgive myself for giving in so easily. What if it was just a fake badge or something.
"What am I doing here, where's my Jonathan and my dad, are they okay?" I finally said, yearning for answers.
"Their fine" He said blankly
" Than what on earth am I doing here?" I demanded
"Don't you remember what happened?" He asked again
"No!" I was getting impatiently
"Miss Adelaide. You were almost kidnapped. " The sound of my full name startled me. It had been ages since anyone called me by that name. It was always just Aide The last person who called me that was my ....mum. My thoughts drifted to my last memory of my mother
Adelaide honey! Your beauty is indescribable and you don't need a man on your side to prove its sincerity. After all you are no one but yourself and anyone who threatens you from changing is not meant to be a part of your life;
It dated back atleast 8 years ago, when my mum said those very words. Tyler Reese , the schools most sought for guy asked me out only to stand me up and leave me in tears. It left me shattered, as I had been having a huge crush on him since God knows how long. I woke up the following day to learn the news of my mother's horrible and unfortunate death
I was so deep in thought that I didn't notice the subcontious tears flowing out. A concerned agent in front of me, unsure of what to do.
"Are you alright?"
"Ye...Yeah" I managed to fake a smile as I balled my fist and wiped the tears away.
"You sure?" He asked, his face plastering his concern
"I'm fine okay" My anger surprising me. He stood back
"Okay"
"I guess I'll be leaving now . Thanks again for rescuing me. I appreciate it " I plastered a half smile across my face as I started towards the door and twisted the knob, entering out into a cool night. The agents foot stood tin between the frame and the door before I could shut it. He grabbed my hand before I could inch forward
"Not so fast. I have strict orders to keep you here until I further notice"
"What? Until further notice" I said appalled by his statement
"Yes. What would you like for dinner" He said, quickly changing the subject
"The only person I am having dinner with is my boyfriend Jonathan" I said pry ing my hands from his grip and turning back around.
" I'm not going to let someone like you risk this case. Now get back inside" He said sounding irritated
"Make me" I said , feeling rebellious
He grabbed me by my shoulders and slung me across his own and stomped into the house .
"Hey! Let me go!" I demanded
"As you wish" He said dropping me on the couch
"Now you can complain all you want . But it's my duty to keep you safe whether you like it or not. Neither of us want you to be here. But I have to protect you, whether I like it or not. The people who kidnapped you are probably still out there, after you. Now if you would like today to repeat itself, be my guest and leave. " I was hating this guy more and more by the second
I shut myself up and sat on the couch, my hands stretched across my chest.
The agent let out a sigh of relief
Helloooo there readers! this sounds a little like Running and Hiding. But actually I actually had this story idea before Running and Hiding . I thought Running and Hiding would be more interesting because majority readers are teens. But I decided to write this out , because I would like to write something other than teenagers story! Let me know what you think :)
