Choices

As soon as Darian was out of sight, Rosalie and Tanya started laying into their respective partners. "I can't believe you would go all cave man on me, don't think I don't know what you tried to do", I would think by now you would know me better then that. He is a guest in our house"; "He was just being polite."" That is how they did things back in his day you know?", "Perhaps we should have fist bumped and said "catch ya later dog" or something?". For Emmett and Jasper's part they simply looked at each other completely lost.

Edward had a different lost look on his face. "What's the matter Edward? You look puzzled" Alice tried to tune out the bickering couples. "Don't you think there are some very strange things about Darian?" "In what way Edward? He seems pretty nice and he definitely seems able to keep you all on your toes." Alice was glad that Bella was the one who asked. She had her own list of strange thing about this guy, but she wanted to hear someone else's take on him. "So Alice you see it as well?' Edward had obviously picked up her thoughts as she mused. He continued with his observations "Those two goons over there" flicking his head in the boys direction. "Both tried to crush his hand. I heard it in their thoughts clear as day. I also heard their shock as they failed. He smells human but not human. His hands are warm. He eats like normal. We even saw him sacked out on the couch this morning. What the hell is this guy?" Alice and Edward just stared at each other for a moment.

"Hey Edward, I never asked you if you can hear his mind" She couldn't believe she was curious about that, and then again it would make figuring out this guy so much easer. It would also suck if his talent was working while hers seemed to have gone on the fritz. Edward pinched the bridge of his nose and sighed. "I don't really know how to put it, with Bella there is nothing but when that guys around I pick up a buzzing like some kind of feedback. It just gives me a headache if I try to make any sense of it". He returned his attention to Bella and Alice returned to her musing.

She sat there fiddling with the fairy. This was completely uncharted territory for her; at least she thought it was. It was so frustrating sometimes to have almost no recollection of her past. Alice realized having talked to the others that her human life would be cloudy almost dream like. They also told her it was strange that she couldn't even remember her turning. How old was she? Ohh, it was all so frustrating. She had no past but she could read the future, well at least she could read the future before he showed up. She tried looking ahead with no luck. Then she decided to look at other peoples futures. This seemed to work a little, so the major problem was her. Did this mean she had no real future or that it was simply so undecided that she couldn't see it? She also wondered if the new green eyed boy was in her future. She mentally scolded herself; she didn't even know the guy.

She couldn't help but wonder why she was so fascinated by this guy. Why was she looking forward to seeing him again? It was all so strange. She had no real idea who he was or even what he was for that matter. He was old even by vampire standard and yet could probably pass as a senior in High school. If she was being honest with herself she had to admit it was kind of exciting. Being a vampire meant that she didn't really fear anything, doubly so with her talent for knowing the future. Her days were usually planned out down the wittiest comeback. Now here comes a guy that seemed to be a complete contradiction to everything she knew. She could never tell what he was going to say or do. Hell going back to one of the big problems they didn't even know what he was. Alice thought that she was finally starting to understanding why Edward found Bella so fascinating. "One of the reasons anyway" Edward must have picked up my thoughts because he whispered those words to me. He smiled at her and went back to whispering with his love. They really are so cute together. She still wondered when he was going to get over himself and turn the girl. It was still there in Alice's mind clear as day. It was going to happen, just no indications of when. Edward growled and stared at me. She knew this was a sore subject for him. "Well stay out of my thoughts if you don't like it. Not like I want you knowing how confused our new house guest makes me" she mentally chastised him. This seemed to make him happy.
