After Trott had run out and Smith had 'explained' why he had gone, Xephos asked Nano if she would get him a proper coffee as he put it, not one from the dispenser in the break room. Taking the money he gave her, Nano went to go get the coffees, dragging Smith in tow. As they turned down the hallway to exit Yoglabs and find better coffee, Nano spotted Trott leaning against the wall.

"Hey, Trott!" she called, cheerfully. This caught Smith's attention, causing him to look over at the smaller man.

"Oh, hey Trott" he called, "Why'd you run off earlier?" All Smith received as an answer was the sad, tear-stained face of his best friend before the man ran down the hall towards the exit. Tearing his hand away from Nano, the slime pelted after Trott, not wanting to lose him. Smith was faster than Trott, which proved true when the slime caught up to him at the door, only to have it slammed in his face as he was a split second too late to stop it being closed. Steeling himself, Smith tells himself to not give up and throws the door open, sprinting out onto the grass after Trott.

"TROTT!" he yelled, "PLEASE DON'T RUN OFF! I NEED TO TALK TO YOU!" With those words, Trott slowed and stopped, only a few metres were between the two. Trott turned to face his follower, his face still red from his crying.

"What?!" he shouts back at Smith, "What do you want to talk to me about?!" Smith took a few steps forward, closing the gap between them.

"Trott, I..." he began, but was interrupted.

"Don't act like you care about me," Trott growled, "You were just messing around, like you always do. With everyone." Smith was hurt, but tried his best not to show it, standing rigid and gazing straight at Trott's face.

"Just then, you were flirting with that damn Nano!" he continued, new tears forming in his eyes before beginning to fall, "I can't believe how stupid I was to think that you would actually return my feelings." Smith's stance faltered as Trott's words hurt him more than the flux burrowing into his body.

"Trott..." Smith said, then closed his mouth as he decided not to argue, seeing the tears flowing from the smaller man's face was one of the most painful things he could witness; and so, without a second thought, he completely closed the gap between them by stepping forwards and wrapping his arms around Trott, resting his chin on top of his head and just, standing there. The shorter man attempted to resist at first, but gave up and simply buried his face into the slime's chest, making wince a little as his face pressed up against the flux. Ignoring the pain, Smith continued.

"Trottie I swear, I do like you..."he started, "I like you more than anyone else that I play games with." Smith suddenly felt movement from the smaller man as his arms rose, weaving between his own, to wrap themselves around his neck. Trott removed his face from his chest and looked straight up into the green man's eyes, with Smith staring straight back down at his.

"I-I'm so sorry that I made you upset," Smith spilled, his own tears beginning to form at the sight of Trott's tear-stained face, "What can I do to make up for it?" Trott had stopped crying, and appeared to be contemplating his answer. Then he opened his mouth.

"I want you to..."he began, his voice cracking at the end. Smith nodded, trying to get the rest of the sentence out of him.

"You want me to what, Trott?" he asked, in the gentlest tone possible. Trott blinked away the remaining tears and gazed straight into Smith's eyes.

"I want you to love me, the way that I love you," the smaller man blurted out, his face turning pink.

"Oh, but Trottie," Smith cooed, "I do." With that said, the green man bent his neck and pressed his lips against Trott's, hugging him tighter in the process.

After a few moments the two break away for air.

"W-we should really get back to HQ or Ross will start getting worried..." Trott stammers.

"Nah, I think we should just stay like this for a little longer," Smith replies, holding Trott as if he never wants to let go.
