You couldn't retreat into yourself
Although you think you could.
You couldn't be me.
Behind bars is where i've stood.
And lived in chains, endured pains.
Commintted crimes, killed a hundred times.
You couldn't face the brutality, you couldn't kill the fright.
You couldn't escape the traps the enemies laying await you in the night.
You couldn't embrace your enemy
nor slit your friends throat.
You couldn't live the terror.
You could'nt be a soldier.
We are Death's betrothed.
