Lauren was once beautiful.

When she spoke, her eyes would light up, forcing everyone to listen on, absorbing every little thing that fell from her lips like it was their life source. Her pale face glowed with curiosity that she embraced with big eyes and an even bigger smile. She smelt of vanilla and musk, something that was sweet but sexy, much like how Lauren was.

Lauren was once beautiful.

She would put her everything into each performance, her voice carrying on for miles, her message going even further. It reached the souls of thousands who would lend their ear for just a moment, feeling the thrum of a beat pounding at their hearts. Lauren could entrance a whole crowd with the simple sway of her hips. Every step of her feet would turn heads, her body only a part of who she was. Lauren was all personality, exploding with experience and happiness and love and stubbornness and will. When everyone else fell down, she'd pick herself up and tell everyone to do the same. She wasn't the type to pick others up, she was the type to encourage and inspire people to do what was right.

Lauren was once beautiful.

She had a way with her words, like they were sweet caramel dipped in the finest Belgium chocolate. It wasn't the tweets and interviews that truly showed this, it was how she talked to people, in private. Lauren was a fountain of advice, ready to get somebody back on their feet. She was strong, always holding herself up and not letting others tear her down.

Lauren was once beautiful.

She was the perfect lover, caressing every inch like it was more valuable than the last. It wasn't the sex that defined her or the level of orgasm she left in her quake, it was the way she loved afterwards. Lauren wasn't one to cuddle, but loved to love. Her heartbeat would press against hot skin, filling a person with warmth and safety. Every kiss was replaced with fire, every touch with ice. Lauren could ignite an everlasting flame that only she could calm with a simple touch.

Lauren was once beautiful.

But then everything changed.

Soon, her words had no meaning behind them, muttered out in 'fine's and 'okay's. Her eyes no longer shined, as they drooped down with fatigue and boredom. No one stopped to stare anymore, or stayed to listen to what Lauren had to say. In fact, no one really looked to her at all, because she never had anything to say. Her once curious eyes held nothing but despair. The vanilla and musk was soon replaced by cheap deodorant and laundry detergent.

Everything changed.

Lauren no longer performed, she acted, and no one believed her part. Her voice fell flat and the message never left home, staying caged inside of her soul. The body that once left heads turning towards Lauren now turned away, scared of what they would see. Bones or cuts or bruises, they weren't certain. What they were sure of, though, was that this wasn't the same girl they had seen just months ago. The personality she once radiated became nothing but a whisper. A 'remember when'. A thing of the past.

Everything changed.

The words Lauren once spoke turned into silent screams only she could hear. They were once sweet and good, but now were bitter and salty. The advice was all fake, made up with Internet searches and self-help books that made people feel more crazy than better. Nothing meant anything to her anymore.

Everything changed.

The love she used to produce became nonexistent. Lauren remained distant, no longer feeling the need for useless touching and meaningless words. Every inch of her filled with disgust. Not for her lover, but for herself and how she stood mentally and emotionally.
