She awakened from her slumber, shoving the bedsheets off her cold and lifeless body. The young, pale girl got up and yawned a big yawn. She looked out onto the courtyard from her bedroom window, not bothering to pull back the curtain. Evelyn was no normal teenage girl, in fact in reality she wasn't even a teenager. She just recently moved from the gloomy country known as Transylvania; where there was a war happening between the West side and the East side, for her own safety she had to get out of there.
"Morning dear" her mother beckoned from the top of her lungs, startling Evelyn as she hadn't quite woken up yet.
"Mother, why must you call upon me at this ungodly hour?"
"Well sweetie I do believe it is your first day at Hughenden High"
Evelyn's eyes widened and she shook her head in horror, backing away from her mother.
"You can't send me to a hell hole. Have you not heard these peasants could do to us if they found out about what I really was underneath this pasty skin?"
"Oh dear please don't worry, they'll have to get through me if they want to hurt you and besides they can't really tell if you wear makeup" she exclaimed.
"I don't want to go to school looking like an Oompa Loompa" Eveyln and her mother laughed.
All of a sudden, Barnabas (Evelyn's father) and Voltain (Evelyn's brother) came storming through the kitchen door, they looked infuriated.
"I caught the little swine trying to take my food again" Barnabas shouted, whilst Voltain hid behind Bellatrix.
"Voltain, dear what have we told you? Time and time again!" Bellatrix went on to explain why he shouldn't steal his fathers food.
"Just trust me dear I've been there before and your father wasn't best please, in fact I still have the scar he left me on my inner right thigh"
"I told you dear I'm sorry, I've learnt to control my anger now" said Barnabas.
Voltain glared at his father and then bowed his head down. "I'm sorry father, I should know better."
"It's ok son. Now be gone the both of you. Off to school."
They grabbed their bags and their lunches and headed off out into the sun. Now as they weren't fully vampires until their eighteenth birthday, they were both fine, however they still had their vampire teeth and no reflection. Voltain was quite like his father, dark brown hair that was slicked back (and stayed in place via excessive usage of gel), he had a pale complexion and dark brown eyes. On the other hand, Evelyn had dark blonde hair with light blonde ombré on the ends that was naturally curly, a pale complexion and brown eyes. She looked very much a like her mother. They both weren't very popular at their old school; both of them tried fitting in by smoking or doing drugs or alcohol, all of these ways failed and they were eventually bullied and taken out of school. On their way to school they came across a house with a sign reading: "Enter at your peril, Beware vampires; House of Lindall".
They stood back and gasped, when they heard a bang and started to run through the forest towards their new school. Everything was okay once they had arrived at the hell hole and their new life and a new day had begun...
