Reluctantly I sat in the headmasters office waiting for some kind of direction on what to do next. I'd been in the office for an hour, and by the way things were going it didn't seem like I would be out anytime soon. I continued to grunt or groan,  and occasionally nodded to give the effect that I might actually be listening.

I'd been dreading starting as a new student seeing as we were already half way through the second term. The headmaster stared at me as I uncomfortably fidgeted with the ends of my hair, and after an excruciating amount of awkwardness, I was finally released to start off my daily lessons. I had already missed my first class and my second had already been in session for almost twenty minutes, and despite my discomfort I walked in.

"Ah, you must be Makenna," the instructor inquired

"I go by Mac, but yeah. That's me." I corrected

He nodded, "You'll be sat next to Armin, he's the blonde boy in the back, you two will be sharing a textbook until you get one of your own."

I proceeded to the empty seat next to the blonde haired boy who in my guess was Armin. I looked him over, his hair was rather straight and in a bob cut but it framed his face very nicely, he was in a pair of dark blue jeans and a white shirt and a light, green jacket. I took my seat and I could feel his stare on me. I wasn't one that was fond of having attention on me so I tried my hardest to ignore the uncomfortable sensation, I tried to pay an unnecessary amount of attention on the textbook and instructor.

"You know, you don't have to be so tense," a quiet voice spoke.

I sighed looking at Armin, he seemed kind of shy but I appreciated his comfort, "Starting at an elite school halfway through the year... Yeah no reason to be tense," I was a little more sarcastic than I was meaning to be, but Armin chuckled which helped ease some more tension.

"Well, it could have been worse, you could have started at the beginning of the year," he retorted

I smiled, "Oh yes, that would have been soooo much worse,"

"Making a name for yourself already miss Makenna, since you seem to not need to pay attention why don't you solve this equation on the board," the instructor pointed to the simple algebra problem.

I enjoyed maths, they had always been fairly easy for me, and when I transferred to this school I was put in lower class just because the advanced one was full, so being presented with this equation  made me smile, "y is equal to 8 square root 3."

The instructor made a funny face, "best pay attention in this class miss Makenna."

Armin was trying not to laugh, "Well then, there's lunch after third period, and seeing as your new and all I'm guessing you don't have any friend here yet. So your welcome to sit with me and my friends."

"Thanks I might take you up on that offer," I turned back to my work and slowly waited as the minutes passed by in an agonizingly slow manner.

Finally after almost two hours it was lunch. Armin had mentioned that I could find him on the rooftop, so I hurried my way to the lunch room to quickly grab something to eat, I figured some bread would do, I wasn't overly hungry, so I would just have to manage through the crowd.

I quick found some sweet bread and then decided to try and find something to drink but this task was soon put off by a figure standing in my way. I looked up to see a tall boy with a look of arrogance mixed with cockiness on his face, he had brown hair that was covered mostly by a black  beanie and he had golden brown eyes. He wore a black jacket and a black and grey striped shirt coupled with black jeans that were slightly sagged.. I wasn't sure it it was intentional or just the lack of a belt, seeing as the jeans did look slightly loose. He was attractive, extremely attractive actually, but he new this. You could tell by the way he held himself and by the way others looked at him.

"Can I help you," I inquired in a monotone voice.

He smirked, "You're the new girl, Makenna is it?"

"It's Mac and yeah," I was deciding on what drink I wanted and that was proving difficult with his overwhelming presence.

"I'm Jean. I was wondering if you'd like to sit with me, seeing as you don't have anywhere to sit," he voice was somewhat condescending.

I payed for my drink and looked at the band of guys that happened to be behind him who seemed to be watching and waiting for my obvious answer, I rolled my eyes, "Thanks for the unbelievable invite but you see I already have some people that in sitting with so why don't you take your arrogance and shove it up your ass," I said in a sarcastically chipper voice.

With this I found my way to the roof. I was met with the familiar blonde haired boy who was sat next to two other people one was a beautiful girl with just above shoulder length black hair and gorgeous chocolate brown eyes. She was in a form fitting black plain black shirt over that was a light loose red jacket and a pair of dark blue skinny jeans. I smiled at her and she smiled softly back.

The other person was a boy with dark brown hair that looked like it was an intentional mess but still looked good he also had brilliant blue green eyes, he was also in a black shirt but it was coupled with a blue jacket and dark grey jeans, he was very attractive, but in a different way than than the boy named Jean who'd I'd met earlier, "You must have been who Armin was talking about. I'm Erin and this is Mikasa."

I nodded, "I'm Mac, nice to meet you."

Lunch passed by rather quickly. I learned that I had two classes with Erin and one with Mikasa, I also learn that Mikasa didn't talk much, and I wasn't sure if it was because she was shy or just didn't feel the need to. They also learned that I lived alone, my parents allowed me to come to this school last minute, and they were paying for my rent and tuition fees and I just had to ensure my test scores and finally grades. I also found out that I was older than the three. They all had only just turned sixteen sometime this passed year and I was coming up on my seventeen birthday in a week. Still they all were rather enjoyable. Erin was loud and boisterous, Armin was smart, brilliant is more like it but he was shy, and Mikasa was sort of a mystery but she seemed sweet to her core.

Erin guided me to the next class seeing as I had it with him, he found his seat and I talked to the instructor, he told me to sit in an empty desk in the back near a window, and I watched as the class shuffled in, soon another familiar face entered and I watched as he made his way towards me. Silently I prayed that he didn't sit near me and was only making a detour to his usual seat, but those hopes were crushed when he set his bag in the seat right next to mine

"Hiya Makenna," Jean said leaning near my desk

"I told you it's Mac," I groaned.

He smirked, "Come on don't be that way."

I sighed, "Your arrogance is astonishing,"

"Arrogance? I'd call it charm rather than arrogance," he spoke

I sighed once more and laid my head down on my desk... This was going to be an interesting year...
