"Louis, I'm sorry.. we cannot make an exception this time. you went too far. we have to let you go. I know sentence you, Louis Tomlinson, to be a fallen angel," the man said sadly, "for committing the crime of exposing yourself as an angel to a human you are illegally romantically involved with."
Now Louis was lost in a forest on earth, passed out. He laid against a tree, wings blanketing around him and arms around his legs. His breaths were steady, and cheeks were flushed. His caramel brown hair cascading across his forehead, framing it perfectly and a flick on the right side of his face, down to his cheekbones in a small curl. His face was clean cut and perfectly sculpted. His long eyelashes rested on his rosy cheeks as he slept. His jawline and upper lip were invaded by stubble.
A crunching noise broke the silence near him. He immediately woke up, ears twitching at the noise. His eyes fluttered open and he lifted his head, looking around. Once he remembered what had happened, he stretched out his wings and then slowly hid them. He steadily stood up, gripping onto the tree with one hand.
The noise was heard again and his head snapped in the direction of where it came from warily. He saw a bear cub slowly and hesitantly emerge from the bushes. He sighed with relief, but didn't take his eyes off of it. He looked around for an older bear, but didn't find one. He pursed his lips and furrowed his eyebrows as he looked around. The bear cub sat down and tilted its head at Louis.
Louis sighed, "Are you lost?" The cub blinked at him, then went back on all fours. "Hm, thought so." Louis mumbled. He always had a connection with animals, that no one, not even himself, understood.
Louis slowly approached the cub and crouched down. He extended his arm out for the bear to sniff his hand. After a few seconds of the cub sniffing his hand, it nuzzled his face into Louis' hand. The corner of Louis' mouth lifted into a smile. He stroked the bears head for a few minutes until he stood up again. He looked down at the bear who's now on his hind legs at Louis' feet, staring up at him with big brown eyes. Louis bit his lip as he smiled down at the bear.
He quickly crouched down and picked up the bear. "I reckon you were abandoned, little 'un." He sighed sadly. "So, I'll take you with me!" The bear make a little noise of glee.
"Are you hungry?" He asked, making the bears ears twitch. Louis chucked lightly and nodded, "Alright. Let's go get you some food." He held the bear bridal style in his arms and looked around. "I suppose I don't need to hide my true form to you, too." Louis said, revealing his wings again. He frowned, remembering he no longer has the thin circle above his head anymore. He lost his halo once he was sentenced to be a fallen angel. The bear made a whimper-like noise as it extended its paws over Louis' shoulder to pull himself up to look at the wings with curiosity. "I'm am-was an angel" Louis said sadly. "Now I'm a fallen angel." He said, reminding himself. He looked at the bear as it cuddled into Louis' shoulder. Louis smiled fondly at the cub and looked around.
"Hm, do you like berries?" He asked, spotting a bush of blueberries. The bears ears twitched once again. Louis walked over to the bush and set the bear down at his feet, resulting in the bear stumbling onto Louis' feet. Louis collected a big handful of berries and set them down in a pile in front of the bear. Louis wiped the blueberry juice off of his hand onto his black skinny jeans. The bear shoved his face down and viciously started eating the berries, making Louis chuckle.
He took this time to admire the bear. He had scruffy, light brown fur, with splotches of a slightly darker brown. His snout was short with a big black nose at the end. His eyes were closed with delight as he ate. The little cubs tail was slightly wagging on the ground and his big feet were basically beside his head while his big paws were on either side of the quickly decreasing pile of berries. He noticed a longer patch of hair at the top of the cubs head. He realized that the bear was pretty small, assuming he was about 8 months old.
He waited until the bear was done with the pile of berries before saying, "Are you alright now?" The bear made a little satisfied noise. Louis nodded and carefully picked the bear up again. He had it like a baby in his arms and continued to walk, looking at his surroundings. He wasn't sure where he was. "Would you mind if I flew for a little bit?" Louis asked, getting a whimper from the bear in return. Louis held him tightly, "Sorry, we're both lost" he chuckled and crouched a little before kicking the ground roughly, launching himself into the air. The bear made a loud noise that Louis didn't even know how to describe. His wings flapped, slightly faltering due to the long time he hadn't flown. His flying quickly became smooth as he held the bear close to his chest. He swiftly flew, quickly looking around for an area he recognize.
After about 10 minutes of quick flying, he saw a town he recognized. He made his way to an alley, where he usually stayed while on earth. It consisted of an old mattress that Louis found at a dump, his backpack, and some other things. He landed, causing a gust of wind. A cloud of dirt formed around them as he lightly let the bear down. He immediately picked up his backpack and started stuffing it with his things. Once he was done he picked up his new companion and took a deep breath. "I have to stop somewhere before we adventure, if you don't mind." The bear cuddled against Louis and Louis nodded and made his way to a familiar house, after hiding his wings, of course. He hid the cub in a bush and told it he'd be right back.
He went up to a nearby door, the flat with "54" next to the door, as the bear peaked through the leaves on the bush. Louis knocked with a smile on his face. A man answered the door, peaking through a crack. Louis' smile immediately disappeared.
"U-Um.." Louis coughed, "I-Is Stan here?" Louis stuttered, looking at the unfamiliar man in front of him with hurt eyes.
"Yeah, hold on." The boy said and walked away. Louis awkwardly shuffled on his feet for a minute before a familiar face was in front of him. Once the boy, Stan, saw Louis his face was full of panic.
"Why are you here?" Stan asked harshly.
"I-Um..." Louis stuttered awkwardly.
"Don't you see you're not wanted here? You're a freak! You have wings coming out of your flesh! Stay away from me." Stan spat, making Louis wince as he felt his eyes sting, but looked away to avoid eye contact with Stan.
"I-I thought.." Louis squeaked.
"What? That I loved you? Of course I didn't. I'm sorry, but I don't want anything to do with you." Stan said, slight guilt and sympathy in his voice, only to be replaced with a scowl.
"Sorry.." Louis mumbled, nearly running away.
He quickly grabbed the cub who was watching the whole time from the bush and found the first hiding place. A dark, small clearing behind a grocery store. He held the bear close to him as he fought his urges to cry. How could he fall for such a cruel trick? He started punching himself in the head. He didn't realize, but his wings were exposed now. Luckily, he was alone. Or at least he thought he was.
He felt so betrayed by Stan. Stan was the one he was protecting. He was assigned to protect. Suddenly a sharp intake from someone's nose caught his attention. He then heard some soft hesitant steps. Louis looked up, not being able to hold his tears anymore and had tears streaming down his cheeks. He saw someone else with their wings exposed.a/n : yay another story !
