Maddie was the kind of kid who always found the best in every situation. Even when upset, she tried her best to look on the bright side.

  But sometimes, when your world is crashing and burning all around you, there is no more hope. There's no light after the darkness. There's no rainbow after the storm.

  And that moment when your life is falling apart- that moment when the world stands still and you realize what's happening- that's the moment when all hope is lost.

  Even with an optimist like Maddie, it seems like you will never find joy in life again. In her case, this may or may not be true.

  It all depends on if she still has that little slicer of hope left in her.
