Harsh words,

Painful words,

Uttered with vicious intentions, like the tip of a needle,

Aiming at your heart.

But these harmless words have caused so much harm and pain and abandoned so many scars no one will ever see, feel or hear.

Can't they see all the tears you're holding back?

Can't they see all the broken pieces left on the pavement for you to pick up?

Can't they see the scars?

Can't they see what lays behind your smile?

Can't they for once, try to
