Arty tried to ignore his ringing phone. He really did. But soon his irritation got the best of him.
"What?" he snapped into the phone.
"Jesus, what's gotten into you?" His mother's voice filled his ears, and he instantly felt bad. He thought it was Abigail.
He sighed. "Sorry, Mom. Didn't know it was you."
"It's alright, I suppose. What do you feel like having for dinner?"
"Anything but spaghetti." Abigail loved spaghetti, which he now despised greatly.
"Alright.."
"Bye mom." He ended the call.
