The Office
Harry StylesLouis entered my office, his small trolley following behind him. I nodded for him to take a seat, my eyes aching from not sleeping last night. A number of calls had been left on my work phone, all of which had the same number - Jocelyn's. She was probably trying to apologize, or trying to ignite another argument.
He sat opposite me, opening his trolley to pull out a bundle of papers. His suit was navy blue, crisp and elegant looking. He had feathery hair and a cheeky smile - you could say he was one of my closest friends. Louis leant his cheek on the palm of his hands as he sat back, "Each time I see you, you seem to have gotten more stylish."
"I only have the best, Louis, and you know that." I looked down at my pinstriped suit which had been specially made for me. There were only fourteen in the world, and cost forty-five thousand pounds. I had pared it with a plain back tie and a white, ironed shirt. All in all, I looked smart. All the time.
"Mr Styles? The tea you requested." Ella pushed the door open with her elbow, pouting as she saw I had company. I waved her over, my eyes on Louis as he studied her from afar. He had a small smirk toying on his lips and there was no doubt about it - he fancied her. As she tottered past, his eyes drifted from her face to her backside, his bottom lip being pulled between his teeth.
"Thank you Miss Matthews. Could you chase up the legalization documents that were sent over from Canada?" I pursed my lips as I saw Louis sit up straighter in the chair, "Oh and this is Mr Tomlinson, the deputy head of this business."
"I prefer Louis." He winked at her, and I could feel the sexual tension that had fell between them both. Ella blushed a deep red, her mouth turning into a small, flirtatious smile. Embarrassment somehow settled in my stomach - Louis was all over my PA.
"Anyway, like I was saying before; Miss Matthews could you chase up those documents by tonight? Else you'll have to work overtime." I verbally pushed her out of the room, much to Louis dismay. He turned back to face me, a gleam in his baby blue eyes.
"When you said you had decided to get a PA, I could see why. She's a real eye-pleaser." Louis exclaimed, his body bent over as he told me. I rolled my eyes, pushing the tea tray towards him. He helped himself, reaching into his pocket for something. He brought out a cigarette lighter and a packet of fags, raising his eyebrow to ask for permission.
"You're not smoking in my office."
"Why not?"
"It's disgusting, I hate the smell. You know that."
Louis threw the items down onto the table, sighing in defeat.
For the next half-an-hour, we discussed how the business was going, checking over financial records and such. But my head was else where, not focused on what we were discussing. Instead, I was wondering about Louis and Ella, and what I would do if they dated. Weird, I know. But I didn't like it. It felt wrong to even imagine.
"I don't want you going near Ella," I warned Louis, who looked up in confusion, "My PA who you were drooling over when you came in. It's mot professional."
"Oh come on Harry! Let me live a little." He placed the pen down, crossing his arms across his chest.
"If you want to live a little go out and travel the world, go to parties more often, sky dive - I don't know. But don't sleep with my PA, that's not 'living a little'."
"Oh, so you're basically telling me that you like her and she's out of bounds for me because you want to be the first to get in her pants? Right?"
"No. That's not right. I don't like her and I don't want to sleep with her. Stop being crude."
I didn't want to sleep with her, or even have a relationship. Ella was my employee, I didn't even classify her as a friend yet. And if she feels as if we are because of last night, well, she needs to learn the difference between being friendly and being drunk.
"Whatever you say, Styles. But we all know you're full of shit."
