: Welcome home :
It's days like these that I dread the most, saying my goodbye's and giving good luck wishes to someone that you have grown quite fond of. These days happen more than I'd like them to in my large country side home.
Today was the day that I had to say goodbye to Louisa, a small red-headed sweetheart.
She stands before me, tucking her wild red curls behind her ear and waiting patiently for my goodbye.
My parents are very kind people. They love children, and are very rich but almost do nothing, I have no idea where their money comes from and I'm not complaining, would you?
I'm sixteen years old, and have my own car-a BMW convertible, may I add-I'm not legally allowed to drive it yet, but it made for an awesome sweet-sixteen gift. I also have the whole third floor of the house to myself, I don't brag about my wealthiness.. Or, rather my parents wealthiness, but at the same time, I sure don't try to conceal it.
Mum and Dad are believers of 'Their own beliefs' which basically means they made it up. Basically they just believe you should be kind to all human race and love everyone. Part of these 'Beliefs' involve doing what they do best. Foster Care.
Yup, that's what I said. Foster Care.
They have been fostering children of all ages long before I was conceived. At one point, I was almost convinced that I wasn't their biological child, but soon found the truth due to a blood transfusion. A long story which involves three things: Me, a quad bike, and a very large wall.
Louisa was the third foster child this year to come and stay with us, each foster child stays under my parents care until a long term home can be found for them. Today a home was found for Louisa.
"Well, aren't you going to give me a good bye hug, Danny?" Louisa's voice brought me back to reality, my thoughts being left behind.
Her eyes pierced my own, filling up with tears as each second passed by.
"Louisa, do you really think I would say goodbye without giving you a hug?" No chance!
"Oh, I sure am going to miss you, Danny Clarkson." She wept, leaving teardrop stains on my brand new shirt, I couldn't find it in me to care about that at a moment like this though.
"I'm going to miss you too, Lou." I whisper back as my mother blubbers in the background, holding a decorated tissue to her nose.
"Promise me one thing Danny?"
"Anything, you name it." I answer without hesitation. My arms still tightly wrapped around Louisa's shoulders .
"We will always be friends, forever and always. And make sure that if your next foster sibling is a guy, you make him gay and then you will never have to be lonely again, okay?"
I chuckle on her shoulder "I will never forget you and we will ALWAYS be friends, okay? And the last three children that have come along have been female, I think I have a good chance of the next being a guy. I can smell it in the air." I wiggled my nose, as if actually smelling the air around me, causing Louisa to let out a tiny laugh.
Yes, I was gay. Proud to be and always will be.
Louisa admitted she had a crush on me in the second week of her staying here, I didn't like to bother the children who came to stay with my sexuality stories but I grew rather fond of Louisa, so I had to tell her.
"You will make an awesome boyfriend to someone one day, Danny Clarkson and don't let anyone tell you different, okay?"
I don't answer back just give her a little nod of my head before pulling her back into one final hug. It was time for her to leave. The black limousine that my father insisted she have had just pulled up on forecourt outside, I knew it had been driving towards us five minutes ago as the sound of the gravelled ground rumbled as the car tires slowly made there way up the driveway.
"Come on Louisa, David has taken your bags to the car. We need to get going." My mother softly places her hand on top of Louisa's head, gently pulling her away from my grip.
"Thank you for letting me live here, Mrs. Clarkson."
"Hey now, what have I told you?" My mother's reprimands her gently, her eyes gaze down towards Louisa's.
"Sorry, I mean Laura." Louisa quickly corrects herself, a small giggle leaving her mouth despite the tears streaming down her face.
Before I knew it me and my parents had waved to Louisa until she was out of sight and the main gates were closed.
I sure was going to miss that girl, she was the only one I had gotten really close to. Someone I could really call a sister. Things weren't going to be the same without her.
Later on that evening we were just finishing up dinner-with one plate less at our table-when my parents decided to drop the biggest bomb on me.
"So, I hope you have cleaned out the spare room, Daniel. We have a new guest staying tomorrow." This soon? And which room do I clean? I have four on my floor.
"Yes, mother." I softly reply "All the rooms are clean. But, we normally wait a week or so before someone new comes along. Why so soon?" I question.
"Ah." My father buts in "Well, you see, there isn't just 'A' guest, there are two guests." He peers over his paper trying to catch a reaction from me. We have never had more that one foster child at one time, I was intrigued. "And when there are two they don't like to keep them waiting" He chuckles.
"Really?" I take a breath "Why are there two? Are they related?" So many question's that need answers.
"Nope, they aren't family." My mother states "They are best friends. Apparently they have been in foster care most of their lives together." I try and read the information leaflet my mother is reading about the two foster children, I failed. My eyesight may be good but I cannot see the little black prints of writing from over the table.
"Oh, I guess it will be a good change for once then." I shrug my shoulders as I gather up my empty dishes to place in the dishwasher.
"Sure will be." She smiles.
"Yes." My father again buts in "Two boys the same age as you, we are going to have our hands full, L." he gives my mother a flirtatious wink and she turns a colour darker than her lipstick. She always blushes when my father calls her by his pet name for her, L. - Gag.
"Do you two have to flirt when I've just eaten my din..WAIT, WHAT?"
"What?" My parents rip their gazes from each other, turning them instead, on me.
"TWO...B-BOYS?" I cover my mouth and mumble "About time. I need males around here, sorry dad."
"No worries son. Now go get the room ready, I'm guessing they will want to share. They will be here tomorrow, don't want you to be doing all this at the last minute do we?" He asks.
Without hesitation I was making my way up the two flights of stairs. Which, by the way, took me forever, there are so many of them.
I made my way to the room right next to mine, it was the only room on the floor that had two beds in it, so I guess this would have to work for them.
I found myself cleaning the already rather clean room with a huge smile on my face. I hope they are nice looking, straight or not straight I could still look, right? Plus, I need to keep my promise to Louisa - turn them gay.
Haha, I love that girl.
