Dear Abigail My Dearest,

They didn't let me see you yesterday. But I still waited in the lobby, hoping you'd wake up.  You didnt.
Your dad came out of your room, red puffy eyes from crying. He sat next to me.
We started talking about how when your mother was dying you were always the one to act happy and bring everyone's spirit up even though you didn't feel happy. We laughed but our laughter died quickly.  Silence filled the hospital but we didn't try to fix it. We were worried about you, and right now I still am. I miss you Abigail. Come back.

Love,
David Lettermen
