I Ran Away to Vegas, Got Kidnapped By One of the Hottest Bands in the World, and Now I'm Wanted - Dead or Alive - By All Their Fan Girls ... Can My Life Get Any Worse?! (Boy x Boy) : Part 3
-Ikuto's POV-
I dragged my feet into the living room, forcing myself to look at my dad. "Hey dad." I greeted him but he just ignored me, he didn't even acknowledge me. It went on like this for the next nine days. He would talk to my mom, Kyoya, and Ruka but not me. It was like I was invisible around the house.
"Bye mom." I walked through the kitchen, my back pack slung over my right shoulder.
She placed her hand on my arm, stopping me from going any further. "Ikuto, I'm worried about you. You're not eating." Was she barely noticing this? I had been struggling with my body image since I entered middle school, around the time I started to notice other guys.
"I'm fine mom." I insisted but she still shook her head at me.
"I don't think so. I set up and appointment with Dr. Winkler after school." That was all I needed, doctors and nurses poking and prodding at me with needles and tests. "I want you to come right home."
I pecked her on the cheek and let myself out without another word.
"Ikuto, I'm really sorry." This was exactly the four-hundred and seventy-seventh time Kevin had apologized to me. His dad got over it and was continuing life as if nothing happened, mine on the other hand treated me like I was the wicked step child.
"Kevin, knock it off. There's nothing you can do!" I was about to walk away but he pulled me into his arms and forced me to look at him. "What are you doing?"
"I'm not going to 'knock it off' until you're happy again." He stared at me, his irises growing large with hunger. Our lips touched again but this time I welcomed it. I welcomed his touch as the kiss deepened.
Then I remembered we were in the middle of the crowded school hall. There was others passing, their mouths hanging open with astonishment. "Kevin, you're doing it again!" I accused.
He shrugged and gave me the 'innocent' eyes. "What am I doing?!"
"You're - you're. You know what you're doing!" I shouted.
"You can't still be blaming me for your dad."
I held my arms out, "Why not? It is your fault." It was his fault. My family could still be living in blissful ignorance and I could've stayed hidden for a few more years but all those plans were sped up when Mr. Reed found us in Kevin's room.
"That's not fair." He followed me down the hall, disturbing every other student we passed.
I turned on him, bring him up short. "Please - please just leave me alone. Haven't you done enough damage?" With that, I left him in the hall amongst our other classmates.
"Hey dad." I greeted him as I got home. I hadn't seen my mother, nor my little brother or sister so I assumed they were out. "Dad?" He just sat there, his nose buried in a news paper. "Talk to me!" I screamed, snatching the paper from him.
"What do you want me to say?" He looked at me, his eyes blank and emotionless. "You want me to say you disgust me? 'Cause you do." Was he serious? I walked out of the living room, my chest heaving and eyes blurry with tears.
This wasn't right. He was my dad, he was supposed to love me and support me, regardless of what I chose in life. I grabbed my bag and dumped all my school stuff out on my bed. I began stuffing it with clothes until it couldn't hold anymore. I stalked downstairs and back into the kitchen, my mother still gone. I noticed my dad's wallet on the counter and figured he couldn't make this any easier. I snatched it and stuffed it into the bottom zipper. I wasn't sure what I was doing, or where I was going but I couldn't live in this house any longer.
I walked down random streets until I found myself walking in a circle around the local park. I had no where to go...my aunt and uncle where in New York which was on the other side of the country and my grandparents were on vacation in Hawaii. The closest relative I had was my cousin, Garrett, but even still, how was I supposed to get to Las Vegas by morning? I took my dad's wallet out of my back pack and revealed it's contents: three credit cards, a bank card, his ID, and eighty-nine dollars in cash. An average train ticket was forty-five and I'm sure I could find his apartment once I got there - after all, how big could Vegas be?
Correction - Vegas was huge and not to mention creepy. I passed people on the street, some with wild hair colors and some with a body mutilation problem. One guy in particular caught my eye. His hair was dyed dark blue with silver tips, which outlined his prominate cheek bones. He smiled, exposing fangs hidden behind his lips. I found it weird but isn't that was Vegas was about - being who you are without someone else judging you?
I hailed a cab and read off Garrett's address, relaxing when the driver seemed to know where it was. We passed buildings, lit up and ready for the night life. I wasn't sure how someone could really live here but Garrett seemed to like it.
"That'll be twenty-four fifty." He held his hand out and I placed the money in his palm. He smiled as he drove off. I threw my bag over my shoulder and walked through the font doors of the shabby building.
"Hey cutie, isn't past your bedtime? I could tuck you in." A lady in the lobby smiled and toyed with my hair. She was a little taller than I was and she was practically naked in her bra and micro-mini skirt.
"N - No thanks. I'm fine." She stepped closer to me and instantly I stepped back, tripping over a partly broken down bench. I landed flat on my butt, my backpack flying out of my arms.
"Are you okay?" She extended her hand to me but I didn't take it. A guy had picked up my bag and was holding it in his hands. "Hey, that's mine."
He looked up and smiled, his emerald eyes glimmering in the night lights. "Hey, Ikuto. Don't you remember me?" His hair was dyed a false black but it was still cut in it's jagged form.
"Garrett? What happened to you?" I was happy to see my cousin, even though I was still locked between the ground and a possible prostitute.
"Get off him Christi." She sneered at him and regained her posture. "What happened to me? What happened to you?" He grabbed my wrist and pulled me to my feet - almost effortlessly. "Last time I saw you, your were at least a hundred pounds heavier."
I shrugged and grabbed my backpack. "So I lost a few pounds. I'm still all right." I looked to the ground then back at him. "Listen, I need some where to stay. I can't stay at home anymore."
He started laughing - not the whole pain in the gut laugh but laughing just the same. "You came all this way to tell me you needed some where to stay?"
"Yeah." I shook my head.
"Does Aunt Mara know you're here?"
"No but I can't live at home. My dad refuses to talk to me and it's just too much stress for my mom right now." He threw his arm around me and guided me down the hall.
"Well, welcome home. It's not much but you can stay." That's what I loved about Garrett, he didn't bother with knowing the minor details.
"Vampyre Massacre?" Garrett asked when he picked up the CD.
"Yeah, they're my favorite band." I pulled out three more CDs and showed it to him. "A lot of people like them."
He took the other CDs from my hands and examined them, disappointed that the band members didn't appear on their cover. "You know, the night club I work at is hosting a Best Seller's Jam off. Vampyre Massacre is playing the next two night. Wanna go?"
"You're going to see Vampyre Massacre?!" I jumped off the couch and looked him dead in the eye. "Don't play with me, you can get me into a Vampyre Massacre concert?"
He chuckled and handed the CDs back. "I can get anyone I want in. I have to get to work and they go on in two hours. Care to join me?" I grabbed my jacket and followed him out of his apartment with the biggest smile on my face - I was going to attend a Vampyre Massacre concert...In person!
