L is for Lust
Part 5 - Ready For The Weekend
It was that time of week again...FRIDAY! This week had dragged on for ages. That's the once thing about being an apprentice, you get left to do all the shitty jobs that nobody wants to do. But that was work, and work was over for the weekend, and now it was time to have my time. I couldn't wait for this weekend, to get out of London. But of course I was going to miss going out with the girls. It was a little excited though. I still couldn't believe that Joe Hart had offered for me to come and visit him. It still hadn't sunk in that I was seeing him this weekend, even though we'd been messaging all week. Oh god! I hope it wasn't going to be awkward, I mean this would be the first time we've seen each other sober!
Just as I was just about to leave the office, Paul my twat of a boss called to me.
"Zara?"
"Yes Paul?" I said with a fake plastic smile on my face.
"You need to make 120 copies of these and bind them together, now please." He said bluntly and shoved a thick document into my hands.
"Can't this wait until Monday morning? It's 5:30 on a Friday" I said emphasising on the word Friday.
"They need to be finished by first thing Monday morning. I'd suggest you do it now or come in early Monday morning." Paul replied returning a fake smile to me. All of a sudden the doors of the lift opened and Paul stepped into the lift. As he did this I 'accidently' bumped Into Paul causing him to drop all of his possessions.
"Watch where you're going you stupid girl!" Paul raged in anger.
"Sorry, didnt quite see you there Paul" I said laughing aloud in my head.
As we both picked up his things, I quickly sneaked Paul's phone into my jacket pocket before he could notice. He warned me to do the work that he had left me, or otherwise there were 'serious consequences'. He walked back into the lift and the doors closed behind him. I quickly ran into the photocopier room and turned the photocopier on to copy absolutely nothing. I grabbed Paul's phone out of my pocket and accessed his e-mails. I scrolled through his contacts and found Stephanie, his assistant. God. I felt sorry for that girl. What did she deserve to assist him? My mind was baffled. I drafted up a new email to Stephanie giving her the Job that Paul had given to me. I knew it was a nasty thing to do, but I didn't have the time nor energy to do it, especially this weekend. I instructed her to photocopy the document that I attached to the email and bind all 120 documents and to be on Paul's desk by 8am Monday morning. I felt so guilty making Stephanie to do it, but I had no choice, I needed to catch a train. Once the email had sent, I quickly ran to the lifts and threw Paul's phone on the floor to make it look as if he'd forgotten to pick it up. I quickly ran back to the photocopier room to make it look as if I was doing my job. As soon as I shut the door of the photocopying room I heard the doors of the lift open. I then heard the footsteps of someone walking towards the room in which I was in. I quickly grabbed a magazine to make myself look busy. The door opened. Paul's annoying little face poked round the corner of the door. He said nothing, he simply shut the door and made his way back to the lifts. As soon as the coast was clear, I cancelled the photocopying and headed my way home to pack. Finally...I was FREE!!
As I walked into my flat with a bottle of rosé wine, I saw Izzy sitting there on the sofa with a mixture of excitement and sadness spread across her face.
"What's the matter babe" I asked in genuine concern.
"You whore! You're ditching us this weekend and your excuse is amazing!" She said in as if it was unfair. I laughed at her comment.
"Izzy. I'm not ditching you, you can still call and message me. And I'll be with you in spirit whilst you're on the pull. Just not while you're having it off with some random shit. Okay?" I said reassuring her.
