Hooves and Hearts

CHAPTER 1

I flew over the jump as my rider stayed low on my back."good job Ella but remember to keep your heels down" my instructor, Carl said. I flew over another jump as I landed perfectly."good job! That was perfect!" Carl greeted. "Now go untack your horse because we have another lesson coming up but it doesn't use your horse". Ella nodded as she hopped off and took my reins. She led me to my stall next to Prancer and Alex . She untracked me and groomed me then left.  "Hey Prancer " I said."hey" she replied."so, I saw you out there you were pretty good." ."thanks" after a long silence I finally decided to talk."hey Prancer have you ever been thinking of braking out?" Prancer turned her head towards me and said."yes but...this place is to secure so we'll never make it" she replied."yes we can. The barn door at the back isn't guarded" I said."that's because it's a paddock" she said."yeah well we can jump over the fence"I corrected."fine I'll do it but who's herd leader?" She said." Well Prancer, max is the only stallion here so he'll be the leader" Alex said. Alex was a pony but not one of those Shetland ponys she's almost the size of a horse but she's 6 inches small, maybe....."no duh" I said."can I join in too?" Darbie asked. Darbie was a welsh mountain chestnut pony. He is a gelding not a stallion. "Please please please please PLEASE!!!!" He pleaded"Fine" i gave in. "Yay!" He said."well we need a bigger herd then that"Prancer said."well how about me?" Neon asked. I always liked neon she was the prettiest mare here, but of cause she doesn't like me back. "Ok so In the herd is me,Prancer,neon,Alex and darbie " . That night when we were all asleep except for me. I heard growling and the chickens freaking out. I silently bit the lock on my door and it opened. I wen t outside to see a coyote chasing penny our female German shepherd. I reared to get the coyotes attention and it worked. I stomped on the ground with my feathery hooves because I'm a black and white shire. I almost hit the coyote but was bit by another coyote. I reared. My back suddenly felt lighter I looked around to see Hekta our male viscous German shepherd tackling the coyote as it whimpered. The other jumped on his back but was pushed off by my back hooves. "Thanks" I thanked."it's ok" Hekta said as he went to comfort his sister in law, yes we have 2 male dogs and 1 female.  I went back to my stall and fell asleep. I woke up extra early to give us time to escape. I looked at Prancer and saw she was asleep. "Prancer! Prancer wake up!" I whispered/ yelled."wha-what?" She said."sshh and wake up the herd were braking out"I replied."ok" she said."Alex wake up" ."yes?" She asked."were braking out" I replied."ok" she said."hey darbs " I said waking him up" yah?" He said."come on were braking out" I said."oh ok" he said silently biting the lock. By the time he was out we where all out."follow me and keep your hooves silent" I said. they all did as they where told. I walked into the paddock and when everyone was behind me I galloped towards the fence and flew over. By now everyone had done it but darbie"come on darbie you can do it!" I encouraged."ok here it goes" he galloped over the fence and landed perfectly just like me ."I did it! I actually did it!" He said."you did amazing! Now let's get going before they notice us" I said."ok" they all said. Just before I was about to gallop off the humans House, lights turned on"crap" I said."guys run! RUN!!" I whispered/ yelled. They galloped and galloped until they were almost a mile away. I went to go run with them but a rope slung over my neck. Oh no it's Ella's father I thought. Ella's father is abusive to horses if they tried to escape. He brang me to his stall and tied my lead rope to the door. Ok good he's not doing it. Just as I thought that there was a giant stink in my thigh then my legs. I looked at me body to see they had scars then I looked at him and saw him with a whip"YOU ARE MY DAUGHTERS HORSE SO YOU STAY HERE!!!! YOU HEAR ME?!?!?!' He screamed. I didn't answer because us horses can't speak in front of humans. He whipped me again and again until I was lying on the ground. He walked off and left me there. Ella came in to ride me and when she saw me her jaw dropped as well as the reins and saddle she was carrying. She then ran up to her dad and yelled"DAD YOU BASTED!!!!" She yelled."I was just trying to keep a horse for you to ride" her father said." HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO RIDE A HORSE THAT MY FATHER ABUSES!!!!!" She yelled."don't speak to your father like that!!!" He reasoned."DON'T HURT MY HORSE LIKE THAT!!!!!" She yelled. There were a lot of yelling from her but I didn't listen. I was about to shut my eyes when a clatter of hooves ran past me and I knew they where my herd. I heard painful screams not from a girl but a man. Must be Ella's father. Then the scream stopped. I knew that Ella's father was dead. Prancer came up to me and said" max! Max are you ok?!" ."does it look like I'm ok?" I joked."come on let's get you cleaned up" Prancer said as she lowered her head and slid me on her back. After that everything went fully black. I woke up to be seeing Prancer hovering above me."max? Are you feeling good?" She asked."yeah thanks" I replied. I got up to see no one else here. I don't know what came over me but I found my self kissing/ nuzzling Prancer she was wide eyed. I didn't stop for some reason. She calmed down and gave in as she kissed/ nuzzled back. I pulled away to say something"Prancer will you be my mate?" I asked."yes! Yes! yes!" She said smiling. I kissed/ nuzzled her again. I heard hooves not to far away but I ignored it.

Neons POV
I heard max was awake so I went to go see him, after all he is my crush. I was walking until I heard someone yell"yes! Yes! yes!" I stopped for a second then kept walking. Why did I reject max...I mean I could of been his mate. I just wish I liked him when he asked. I thought. When I got there I saw something that made me cry. Prancer! And max are kissing/ nuzzling! No no no! I have to do something! I ran up to Prancer and charged into her. She fell instantly on the ground. When I realised we where right next to a cliff I saw she was rolling down it. Oh crap."WHAT WAS THAT!!!!!" Max yelled then charged into me."max I like you ok!?! Is that what you want to hear?!" I was expecting him to be wide eyed but he just charged into me again"ow!" ."THATS BAD LUCK FOR YOU BECAUSE I DONT LIKE YOU ANYMORE!!!!" He yelled. Ouch! Then I saw him running down the Moutan to catch up to his "mate" . He jumped in front of her as he swung her on his back and climbed up. He finally reached the top and set Prancer down. she had bruises. purple ones too."neon I reject you" max said angrily but in a calm voice. It felt like a million shattered pieces of my heart. "neon I reject you" I kept repeating in my mind. I lowered my head and walked back to the herd sadly. Everyone saw what I did and they all gave me a cold, death glare"neon there was no reason to do that." Alex said."I'm sorry Alex I really am. It's just...when max asked me to be his mate I said no because of SnowShoe and then when he left, I went for the next stallion and that's when Prancer came, from the way he looked at her I knew that he liked her and didn't like me back" I replied." Oh so that's what it's about? Huh? You just go for the stallions just because there the leader! you don't like max! You Don't like SnowShoe! You don't like anyone you just like the stallion so you can be the bratty mare you are! Well guess what even tho I'm a stallion and I'm next to be the first leader hell no am I falling for you!" Darbie said. That was true darbie and max are brothers but darbie was younger. "D-darbie I..." Darbie gave me a death glare while waiting for an answer."like you" I whispered."I HEARD THAT AND I DON'T LIKE YOU SO DON'T EVEN TRY !!!! YOU KNOW WHAT I GIVE IN ILL BE YOUR MATE!!!!" Darbie said."really?" I asked."yes" he replied."ok babe" I said." Neon...I BRAKE UP!!!" He said. Oh that sneaky basted."you really think that don't you?" He asked. I had a face like this 😡 until he stopped laughing. I walked over to Alex to talk to her but she just faced her back part to me."ale-" ."save it!" She said. Alex is usually the nicest In the herd but now she's still nice just only when you almost killed a horse in the herd she's the anger in feelings. It's a month later and now darbs and Alex are mates. Wow just great,I'm the only single in the herd wow I'm special aunt I?( note my sarcasm).
