Hidden Secrets

Prologue

"Lilly, you know the rules. You have to sacrifice the girls to the coven," announces Christopher.

"No, I don't. Christopher, honey, don't you want to be a father to our little angels?" asks Lilly as she bats her luscious long eye lashes over her emerald green eyes.

"Frankly, I don't. Their powers are to be the covens. I'm not going to upset the coven. Just to keep two girls, who I never wanted in the first place."

"How could I marry someone like you? You have just turned into such a narcissistic jerk. I don't want to be married to you anymore," as a loud splash hits the floor.

She looks down and realizes that her waters have just broken. "Christopher, get me to the hospital now."

He rushes out of their little farmhouse and brings the car out front. Lilly waddles to the car and waits for him to bring out her hospital bags.

"I can drive myself to the hospital." She waddles around to the drivers side of the car and opens the door.

"I will drive you," as he pushes her back to the passenger side of the car.

24 hours later

"My two little angels," as she looks over both her newborn babies in their hospital cribs.

"I will call you Tera," as she touches the nose of her little daughter in her crib to her right.

"And I will call you Stormy," as she strokes her little daughter in the other crib.

"My darlings, I will not let your father sacrifice you to the coven. I will bring you up and teach you how to use your powers."

"Mrs Proctor, your husband is here to take you and your little bundles home," says a midwife at the desk in the nursery.

"Can you tell my husband that I will be out soon with the girls?"

The midwife nods and grabs the nursery phone. Lilly quickly wraps her daughters in their blankets and places them in their pram. She places her hospital bags underneath the pram and leaves the nursery. She knows that Christopher will be waiting at the maternity ward desk for her, but little does he know that she had already discharged her and the girls out earlier this morning.

She quickly exits the hospital and begins her journey down the road. She only has a small amount of money on her so she grabs a bus to as far away from Salem that she can get.

"My darlings, Tera and Stormy, mummy has just done the most unthinkable thing and kidnap you away from the coven. You will not understand why I did this but I will explain it all to you on your 18th birthday, after you celebrate it with your friends. You will just be growing up with a mother, no father or any other family. I am so sorry for all of this but you will thank me one day. I couldn't sacrifice you to the coven so that they can continue to have power. It's not fair for me to have to give up my babies. You are the first set of twins in our coven for over a hundred years. I promise I will teach you one day how to defeat your father and the coven. I love you my babies."

She gives her babies a kiss on the forehead and looks out the window of the bus, as it leaves the town of Salem. All she can see is the autumn leaves falling all over the thick forests floor. That was her favorite thing about Salem, the way the autumn makes the leaves fall all over the forest and all you can see is the orange rather than the green of the grass bed. Especially over Halloween, with the smell of pumpkin in the air and the laughter of children as they run from house to house getting candy.
