It has been a week since my last encounter with Jacob, so it was the day before Eliot's birthday. I had avoided both of the brothers, which is very difficult considering they're the only cooks and they live in the house. I don't know what Jake was thinking, I mean yeah he didn't know about my past, no one did, but we had just met and he wanted to kiss me! Talk about making first impressions. What was I going to do tomorrow? I mean I can't ignore the 'birthday boy'. Then again Eliot isn't the one who made a move on me, it was his creepy big brother.

"My La- Quinn, it is time for lunch" the sweet Maria said from outside my door. I have grown to really like her, much like an aunt.

"Coming!" I call walking over to the door from my desk and walking down the grand staircase on my own. God being in this house made you feel like a princess, not the every girls dream part, but the whole schedule part. 'Quinn breakfast time' or 'Quinn you have work to do in the study' I mean I knew this place was an important part of London and the only reason I bought it was because a distant cousin of mine was the owner before the last one.

I sat down at the table in the kitchen, I refused to use the one in the dinning room because it was too big for one person. I couldn't sit still with everything going through my mind so I stood up and paced the room. I started messing with my bracelet when unexpectedly someone backed into me. I fell on my butt and around me was a smashed cake the person must have been holding.

"Shit" the person said and I recognized the voice of Eliot, only then did he seem to notice me. "I my god Quinn I'm so sorry" he stood up and offered his hand and a hesitantly took it, it didn't feel wrong holding his hand. It was comforting in a way, not at all like when Jacob touched me.

"It's fine, no harm done, well to me. The cake, that's another story" I let out a small chuckle when I got to my feet. "I'm guessing that was the cake for your birthday so how about I make you a new one, my gift to you?"

"Oh I couldn't let you do that, I'm supposed to serve you not the other way around"

"Just shut up" I cut in "I have nothing better to do and besides, I love baking"

"Well I'll meet you halfway. We can both make a new cake....right after we clean this mess" he says with a smile.

"Deal" I reply before getting I couple mops and bucket out of the closet. I fill the bucket with water and we start to clean. It is silent the whole time but I'd catch him glancing at me from time to time and I couldn't help but blush or smile in response. 'God Quinn what has gotten into you?' Something inside of me would ask, I couldn't answer that question. I've never felt this happy, and especially when the source of my happiness was because of another person.

We soon cleaned the mess and went to the kitchen, I decided that I wanted it to be bigger than the other one. I got all the ingredients needed and put them on the counter. Eliot started mixing the wet ingredients while I combined the dry ones. The cake was soon all put together and in the oven.

"There, not so bad having a partner" I told him with a small smile. I started brushing all the spilt flour into a pile.

"I guess not" he smirked and flicked water off his hand at me.

"Hey!" I tossed flour at him and it left his lightly tanned face covered halfway with flour. I couldn't help but to let out a giggle.

"Oh that's it." He said playfully before tossing powered sugar at me. We soon got in an all out flour war.

"I surrender!" I call out with my hands in the air and realize we are now both covered in flour. He just let out a relieved sigh and walked over to me and leaned against the counter.

"You got a little something" he pointed near the corner of his lips. I brush my hand on my face trying to get it off.

"Here, let me" he took a step forward and cupped my cheek while wiping away cinnamon from the side of my lips. I made eye contact with him and found myself leaning up to him, I couldn't help it notice he was leaning into me too. Our lips were about to touch when someone burst through the door.

"There's somebody waiting for you in the study ma'am." The butler whom I haven't gotten to know yet said.

Who would be coming here to see me? Why did they have to show up then when I was so close to kissing Eliot? Whoever it was I had a bad feeling about seeing them.

------------A/N-------------
