Chapter 1: Surprise Talk

I sit in my bedroom, in my shabby apartment, not knowing what to do with my life.

After about 2 hours, I sit up hearing a knock on the door. I wonder to myself, who could that be?! I jumped out of bed, and rushed to the door. I slowly walk over and move my hand towards the door handle, but hesitant. I peek through the peek hole, and saw my (newly recent) ex, shocked. I slowly turn the door handle, and stare at my ex wondering, why is he here?!

Tristan said,"Hey Riley!" I didn't hear him because I was still staring into his hazel eyes.

"Are you okay Riley?" Tristan worriedly asked.

I got out of it, and exclaimed"Yeah, thanks for asking!"

Tristan just smiles his smile that I love. Tristan says,"Anytime!"

I smile back, and scratch my head awkwardly. I ask,"Uh.. Do you need anything?"

He nods his head, says, and asks,"Yeah, can I come inside?"

I am unsure with my self, but say,"Yeah sure."

Tristan comes inside and we sit down. Tristan asks,"Would you hate me if I told you I was dating again?"

I thought to myself, A little bit actually, but we're not together anymore.. Though that was his doing. Gees, he's so insensitive. If he wanted to get out of our relationship so fast, and move on like 2 weeks later. Did he even care in the first place? But I feel like I can't say no, even though I know I should. I lied saying,"No, I don't mind!" After I said that, I really regretted it, and it hurt my heart. But I just kept lying to him, and kept pretending I didn't care.

Tristan makes a smirk of a smile, and says,"Great! Are you sure though?"

It's hurting me even more for lying to him, but I have this feeling that he deserves it. Again I lie saying,"Yeah, of course!"

"I ask him,"Anyway, do you need anything else?" After that, I'm still staring into his eyes.

Tristan stands up, spreads out his hands, and asks,"A hug?" He makes a big smile, and grabs my waist, and pulls me closer.

I'm standing there feeling fairly awkward, but I wrap my hands around his body, and keep putting on a show.

We let go, and Tristan asks me,"Are you busy this Friday?

I think to myself, I thought he had a new girl. But it may just be a friend hangout night. If that's what we are now. I think of what's on my calendar, and remember that I'm free all week. I say,"I don't believe so,why?" I ask.

Tristan smiles, and says,"Well, I was wondering if you would find a date by then, we could double date!"

I think,"No! Awkward.. and plus he's still be so insensitive towards me, but he doesn't even seem to realize it." I answer sadly with a,"Yes, I'll try my best!" I give him a fake half smile.

Tristan smiles with excitement, and says,"Awesome! I have to go now, but I'll call you!"

I sigh in relief, and say,"Okay, bye!" I walkover to the door with Tristan, close the door while waving goodbye.
