Chapter Three

"Oh my gosh! They should be here any minute!" Skylar squealed. She was totally fangirling about meeting One Direction, but nothing changed after the concert. I still couldn't care less. I left Skylar to fangirl with the other girls dressed in everything 1D.

I walked over to a couch in the corner of the room and played Hunter Hayes on my headphones. I absolutely loved Hunter Hayes. His voice was like getting high on music. Maybe that's why I didn't notice that there was a person sitting beside me until he punched me in the shoulder.

"Ow!" I exclaimed, surprised. The boy I recognized as Louis chuckled. "What was that for?" I asked after removing my ear-buds.

"Well I couldn't get your attention any other way!" he said laughing. I shrugged. "So, what were you listening to?" I was less than thrilled to be talking to a member of the band that ruined my life, but since technically only Harry did, and he was not Harry, I decided I could cooperate.

"Hunter Hayes." Louis cocked his head to the side. "He's an American singer. Kinda new." I explained remembering that they were a british boy-band and offering him a ear-bud to listen. He took it graciously and listened to the song I played, Storm Warning.

"Eh, it's ok, but do you wanna know who's better?" he asked with a smug smile.

"Uh-uh. No way. Not possible." There was nobody better than Hunter Hayes. Nobody.

"Yeah-huh," Louis insisted. "Listen to this." He handed me one of his own ear-buds, which he pulled out from his pocket along with his iPhone. Now THAT is something that would be worth becoming famous.

After the song stopped playing, I was speechless. "Who-"

"Ed Sheeran," Louis interrupted me. I swear he had the face of a puppy who just snuck a sausage. "Lego House is the song."

"Ok, ok. I, Sophie Hayes, have been proven wrong."

"Yeah!" he exclaimed in victory.

"Enjoy it while it lasts, 'cause it'll never happen again," I said.

Louis's phone suddenly rang loudly in my ear.

"Ouch!" I said yanking the earbud out of my ear.

He chuckled, "Sorry. Hey, I gotta go. Apparently i'm not allowed to just sit and talk to the coolest girl here."

"Well I don't see that as a problem, since you're talking to me, and the coolest girl is right over.." I glanced around the room looking for Skylar. "There," I said pointing at her.

"I doubt it, but i'll go check her out. Pray that I don't pop an eardrum," he joked.

"Alrighty."

Louis was just about to walk away when he caught Harry's eye. "Hey, Hazza!! Are you hallucinating or something?! She's the coolest girl here!" Louis screamed across the entire room and motioning to me. I mentally face palmed. Louis just got me death stares from everybody in the room, except for Sky.

"Thanks for the death stares, Louis," I mumbled so only he could hear. Louis looked at me, then back around the room.

"I was talking to Harry, sorry. You all can go back to your own business." He tried to fix his mistake, but it was too late. Those girls already hated me, this just gave them a good reason to. Louis gave me a small smile with a shrug as he walked away.

I put my own headphones in and tuned back in to my country music. It didn't last long though, some tapped my shoulder lightly. "Why does everybody keep interrupting my peace?" I snapped as I jerked my head up to reveal a very flabbergasted Harry. Yes, I just used 'flabbergasted.'

"Oh, uh, sorry.." Harry mumbled awkwardly, shoving his hands in his pockets. Believe me, I didn't want to be talking to Harry after what he did, but my momma taught me manners. This didn't seem like the flirty Harry that everybody described. His bright green eyes looked more hurt or confused than anything. See, I had this weird thing where I could tell how somebody felt by there eyes. It was totally involuntary and a little creepy, if you ask me.

"It's fine." I put one headphone back in my ear, but I left the one on Harry's side out in case he decided to say something.

"So, did you enjoy the show?" he asked, looking up at me.

"More or less," I answered honestly. He became even more confused.

"Huh?" I don't think he meant to say that out loud, but I answered it anyway.

"See, my friend, the one with black hair," I said pointing to Skylar.

"Yeah?"

"Well, she's like obsessed with your band, and she's my best friend, so I was forced to come." Harry looked relieved at that. "Why do you look so relieved? That's not really the reaction I expected," I asked, my curiosity taking over.

His face tinted pink and he ran his hand through his hair. It was actually kinda cute. Wait? Sophie, what? No. "Well, I, uh, I kinda thought you just hated me, since like, you got on with Louis so well.." he answered with way too many pauses. I mentally laughed at how ridiculous his explanation was.

"Nope," I said, popping the 'p.'

"So, then why did you look mad when I gave you your phone back?" he asked.

"Like I said, I'm not that big of a fan, so that post on my twitter..." I didn't really know what to say. He didn't need to know I was bullied. "It got some pretty bad comments," I finished and left it at that.

"Oh. I'm sorry, I didn't know-" he rambled, but I cut him off.

"It's cool. No worries," I said giving the best smile I could conjure up.

"OK, BOYS! Say your good byes!" A guy named Paul, loudly interrupted. I was thankful for the distraction. The other boys darted towards the door, but Harry hesitated.

"I guess i'll see ya around," he said.

"Probably not," I said blatantly.

"Right. Well, uh, bye."

"Bye," I said giving him a small smile as he turned around and left.

I was glad this whole experience was almost over, but I knew I had one more person to handle. As if on cue, Sky came running up to me.

"How was it?! OMG! We saw you talking to Louis AND Harry! Wow, Sophie!! You're sooo lucky!! What if Harry likes you?! Then, yall can get married and have little curly haired, blue eyed boys and blonde haired, green eyed girls!!" she rambled. I was surprised she hadn't run out of breath yet.

"WOAHHH! Calm down, Sky. We talked because I was actually carrying on a conversation instead of screaming in their faces. That's all." I tried to make her chill out. "Where are your keys? Let's go," I directed. I think I should be driving home. I think Skylar's a little drunk on them. Haha, like "Drunk on You" by Luke Bryan. Good one, Soph.

I smiled to myself as we drove home. I was glad this experience was finally over.
