Samantha's POV:
I glared at myself through the mirror. What are you afraid about Samantha, he hurt you and it's time you make him regret it.
"There all done! Now quit glaring like that, you'll get wrinkles and ruin my hard work!" Jessica exclaimed, before smoothing out any creases and wrinkles in my dress.
I sighed and stared at myself, I was wearing a deep red backless dress, the neckline was dipped low, just enough to show cleavage but enough to make them want more.
"Okay I have to go if I don't want to be late" I said brushing her hands away.
Quickly slipping on the three inch heels, I grabbed my clutch and walked to the door.
"Jessica I've got all control" I said before she could open her mouth and say anything.
"Fine. But just remember the past" she said before turning away with a gleam in her eyes.
I didn't say anything and strutted out as I thought, I can't go soft this easily. Quickly heading out I called a taxi.
Nearly twenty minutes had passed before I had arrived at the destination La Roma. Quickly composing myself myself a quick run through on what was to happen and walked in.
"The name of your reservation please" a tall blond dressed in a suit approached me asking.
Before I had a chance to say anything a voice answered for me. "She's with me"
Turning to see Ashton standing there with his arm reaching for me. As usually he took my breath away but I mentally scolded myself.
Before taking his arm I turned back the blond and winked at him before taking Ashton's arm as I felt him tense.
We walked to a quiet dimmed area that was secluded from the rest of the restaurant giving us privacy. There I could see that there was a bottle of red wine along with waiters standing for our request.
I quickly ordered a small salad and turned to see Ashton frowning at my order before ordering something for himself.
As soon as the left he turned his attention to me, "Was that all? I thought you would order your usual.."
He trailed off.I glared, "What, you're upset just because things aren't going your way?"
He quickly responded nervously "no no! That's not it, I just figured that was what you always got when we use to go here"
I stared at him intently, giving no indication of what was on my mind. He noticed me staring and gave me a cocky smile, "You look beautiful today Samantha"
Of course after all these years, he would still have that attitude I thought to myself smiling inwardly.
"You mean I didn't look nice before, is that it?" I retorted.
His eyes quickly widened and he opened his mouth to explain when the waiters arrived with our food.
I looked down at my salad and ate a small bite before looking up. It was time to get to business.
"That's not what I meant, earlier wh-
I cut him off with a wave of my hand, "whatever, let's get to the point of why I'm here and what you want" I said trying to say it coldly.
He stared at me for a moment as if trying to read me but I had put on a blank expression and after years of practice I had learned to not show my emotions.
"Why the sudden change, we seemed to be getting along earlier, now you're-"
"What, cold, emotionless, or was it slutty?" I sneered as memories came rushing back.
His eyes widened once more, "Samantha, I didn't mean what I said to you that day, I'm so sorry but there was a reas-
"Reason! Reason!" I said raising my voice a little louder. "What do you mean reason you fucktard! You called me a slut and a whore, then you said I was just like your ex girlfriend and had no class! You then said I belonged on the streets like a damn prostitute!"
I could see hurt flash in his eyes before regret clouding over. That had almost made me want to cave in and apologize and accept his apology but I shoved that thought away.
"Samantha, please you have to understand, it was bec-"
I cut him off away, "I'm sure there's a reason" I said with sarcasm before rolling my eyes. I could feel my eyes start to get watery and I cursed myself.
Keep yourself together Samantha. I thought quickly blinking the tears away before they could fall.
"I'm not that weak little naive girl anymore Ashton, this you see here," I said waving up and down my body, "is the new me, I will see you at work tomorrow boss" I said before grabbing my purse and walking off.
I felt him grab my arm and turned, "do you want a repeat of what happened the last time you did that" I asked giving him a cold glare.
All that did was make him hold on tighter, I looked up to his face to see look miserable, his eyes showed regret and I looked away.
"If you would just let me explain Samantha" he pleaded
I pulled my arm away from grip and glared. "I have to go, as I said I'll see you tomorrow boss."
"Dammit Samantha would you jut let me explain!" He shouted making me stop in my tracks.
I turned and stormed towards him before stabbing my finger at his chest. "First of all no and second of all would you stop, you're causing a scene and the lag thing I need is public humiliation and everyone getting into my our business"
Walking away from his calls I rushed to the front doors and onto the street, before getting into the nearest taxi.
Giving the driver my address and telling him to step on it, I leaned back and crossed my arms feeling tired and worn out.
