The morning of October 31st 1980, Remus awoke to the sound of a crying baby. He rose slowly from his bed then took his time in making his way to Samantha's nursery. The child simply cried to get his attention and to, for some reason, wake him up in the mornings. The werewolf pushed the door to her nursery open and as soon as she saw him she stopped crying.

"Good morning Sammy, waking your old man up again, huh?" Remus asked as she picked her up. She gurgled something in response as he shifted her to lay over his shoulder and then walked downstairs and into the kitchen.

He sat her gently in her high chair then began bustling around the kitchen in order to make the two their breakfast. He pulled out a pan and two pots, set them all on the stove, and pulled out a canister of oats, a carton of eggs, an unsweetened bar of chocolate, and a loaf of bread and set the items on the counter. He then filled one of the pots with water and turned on the heat as he added some of the oats then, using his wand, turned the heat on for the pan and cracked two eggs into the pan. As he was cooking he began to hum a random tune he thought of which made Samantha squeal with joy.

"You like that?" Remus asked glancing over at his daughter. He thought for a moment then began singing, "Little baby Sammy, cute as can be. My darling baby girl, my little bumblebee," he sang as he poured the porridge into a small plastic bowl and stirred in the unsweetened chocolate. He continued to hum as he used magic to cool down the porridge then set the bowl in front of his daughter on her high chair.

"There you go bee, I hope you like chocolate," he kissed her forehead and began to feed her as he waved his wand to put his eggs on a plate. The baby accepted the first bite he offered her then smacked the tray slightly to try and get him to feed her more. Remus chuckled, "Just like your old man, aren't you bee?"

He fed her a few more spoonfuls before using his wand to feed her to he could eat the breakfast he'd been preparing himself. After they'd both finished eating Remus washed the dishes and then brought Samantha upstairs so he could change her into her day clothes and get changed himself. He set Samantha in her crib for a few minutes as he changed into jeans and a t-shirt then changed her into a purple and black dress that Lily had given him for her. Remus then slipped on both of their shoes and a baby carrier before strapping Sam into the carrier and walking back downstairs.

"Alright Sammy, lets get a few errands done before the trick or treaters come by, eh?" Remus spoke to the girl as he grabbed his wallet and her baby bag. Sam rested her head on his chest as he stepped outside, locked the front door, and proceeded to walk into the small town near their home.

The two dropped by the grocery store and picked up a few bags of candy for later that night as well as more baby supplies such as pacifiers, formula, diapers, baby wipes, baby powder, a few bibs, a new teething ring, baby soap, baby lotion, and a few solid baby foods. When they went to check out they got the usual looks from people before the cashier said something as Remus began to pay.

"So, taking care of the kid huh?"

"She is my daughter so yes."

"Is she like biologically your daughter or?"

"I honestly believe that that is none of your business."

"Yeah but I was just wondering since she's..." the cashier trailed off.

"I know what you were wondering," Remus glared slightly at the man.

"Alright, alright, fifty-seven sixty," the cashier sighed slightly. Remus paid and quickly grabbed the bags then exited the store immediately, miffed that the cashier had the nerve to ask about something that wasn't his business. Sam began to stir as Remus walked down the street to go back to their house and woke up as Remus turned the corner.
