The room was beginning to look like a mess as she tried to find her pair of blue stiletto, the only pair she had and used during formal occasions. Today, there wasn't an event that required her to dress up, but the call she got from Mr. Madison's secretary made her panic. She was being asked to visit his office right away to bring in the documents she had filed herself.

Naturally, there was a need to dress properly. And this was how her dilemma came about. The company car had been sent to bring her over to the office. When she found the shoes hidden behind her box of memorabilia, she sighed with relief.

Standing up, she looked at herself in the mirror and saw how messy her hair had become. With a brush, she attempted to tame down her stubborn curls for a ponytail. Though it was a bit of a struggle, she managed to keep it together. She completed the look by dabbing press powder on her face and a red lipstick.

She picked up her bag and the files on her bed before leaving the room. Her feet were unstable as walked in a hurry with the shoes on, she was more of a flat shoes kind. A complicated wardrobe often gave her a headache so she would settle with buying less trendy and less stylish clothing.

"Penny!"

"Oh!" She nearly dropped the files in her arms out of surprise.

Willie came out of nowhere again, in his usual business suit. She frowned a bit after seeing him in the mansion at this hour which was almost lunch time.

"I'm in a hurry. Can we talk later?" She asked while briskly walking toward the main door.

"Actually, I'm here to accompany you," He said, catching up to her.

"What? You're the driver the secretary said?" When he nodded with a huge smile she shook her head. "And here I was thinking you sit around in the office all day listening to reports and attending meetings."

"That's a typical office life," He stated while taking the files off her hold. "But I'm not the typical businessman." He winked before opening the door for her.

"This isn't the company car either," She commented when they were both inside the car.

"You don't expect an Operations Manager to use a company car, do you?"

"Of course not. What I didn't expect was the Operations Manager himself imposing as the company driver." She shook her head. "Really? Why are you here?"

Willie started the engine and they drove off the busy road. His aura had a hint of profound glee. He looked really pleased with surprising her. And instead of answering her question, he gave her a wink before focusing on the traffic ahead.

"Fine. But can you at least tell me why you had to personally come and bring me to the office. A company driver would be enough." She didn't want false rumors to be spreading in the office once what he did leaks out.

"I want to." It was brief and it seemed like he wasn't saying anything else.

"Willie. You can't keep doing this." She stated a bit concerned.

"Why can't I? Isn't it normal for a man to give a woman a ride?" He quickly glanced her way.

Oh no. They can not be referring themselves as a man and a woman now. They needed to remain Penny, the in-house PA and Willie, the grandson. Their friendship was flourishing, however, he was moving on to a pace beyond what she could offer.

"Can't I give you a ride because I want to?" He asked with a serious tone.

"And then what?"

"I'd take you to places, have dinner with you as often as possible, and maybe talk to you every day. It depends on how far you would allow me to come into your life." The cheerfulness was gone.
