"Try to hear my voice,

You can leave,

But it's your choice..."

Bethany hummed along to Hear Me by Imagine Dragons while texting Allie and waiting for her Caramel Frappuccino.

Allie:  So what are you doing?

Bethany:  Nm, just buying coffee.  Shopping is soo boring!

Bethany was notorious for her hate of shopping; it was with a passion.  She would much rather be at home writing and reading, but no such luck.  Her sister's had some shopping to do and errands to run, so her day would be spent at the mall.

Allie: lol find a cute guy!!

She rolled her eyes.  Allie had much more faith in her ability to flirt than she did, although she did do well when it came to talking to guys.

Bethany:  like its that easy!

Allie: lol it can be entertaining :)

Bethany took her coffee and moved out of the way, turning towards the mall's book store.

Aaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A roar could be heard floating up from the south end of the store.  It sounded like a mixture of shrill shrieking and an elephant stampede.

"What the-?"  Bethany was cut off and knocked off of her feet by a tall, sandy haired boy with light brown eyes.

"Dude!!"  She yelled.  "Really??"

"I am so sorry!!"  He scrambled to pick up her phone and purse, then noticed that her white shirt was completely soaked in coffee.  "Shit! I'm so sorry!!! I didn't see you, it's just, ummmm..."  He looked behind him worriedly and then at her.  His eyes were filled with fear.

"What?"  Bethany looked over his shoulder and sucked in a breath.  "Here, in here."  She pulled him into the bookstore and pushed him behind a pile of Twilight books.  "Stay."

Running back out into the mall she started yelling and pointing in the other direction; "There!! He went that way!"  When she was sure that all of the crazed teenage girls were properly distracted she returned to the store and tentatively pulled him out of hiding.

"You're ok now.  Here, take these..."  She pulled her beanie off of her head and handed him her sunglasses.

"But these are for girls!"  He protested.

Bethany raised her eyebrows.  "It's this or those girls back there get you.  Speaking of which, what did you do to get them chasing you like that?  Did you take the toilet seats out of the girls bathroom or - ?"

The boy laughed and gave her a look.  "Something like that..."

"Well you can tell me about it in the one place that I know none of those girls will look; the non fiction section of this book store.  Come on."

He laughed again and followed her all the way to the back right corner of the store.

"It smells funny here..."  The boy wrinkled his nose, causing Bethany to giggle.

"That's the smell of old neglected books.  Now, why were those girls chasing you?"

"I have no idea."  He raised his hands up as if to prove his innocence.

"Yes, you do.  Guys don't just get chased by a stampede of teen girls like that unless they are famous or have pulled a serious prank.  Which is it?"
