CHAPTER THREE
It was Saturday morning so I got ready for the day, I grabbed my jeans and a t-shirt and placed them on, the t-shirt was a band shirt my uncle had got me for my birthday, it was a Jam shirt as I liked their music. I walked downstairs and into the living room my dad was reading the Saturday paper in his chair my mom was sat reading a magazine on the sofa. "Morning." I stated walking up to them giving each a hug. "Good Morning Amber." They each said, and I walked into the kitchen to grab a bowl of cereal, I took it and sat at the table to have my breakfast. I saw a jug of Orange juice was on the table so I had a drink. When finished I walked back to the living room and sat with my mom. "I'm going out around five to hang out with a friend so should be back by 8:30." I stated. "Ok, I see no problem with that." My mom replied. "Yeah, that seems ok with me." My dad added.
Five on the dot Jacob arrived at the door, my mom and dad had gone out for a meal at a local fancy restaurant. I grabbed my leather jacket and walked to the cinema with Jacob. We got into the cinema and got some popcorn then took our seats at screen six. We both decided on a romantic comedy, Jacob weren't really a horror fan so it was the best idea. Before the film was about to start I thanked him for the chance to go to the cinema with him, he is a great guy, so much nicer than Zach who was a total jerk, even when we were going out. "Not a problem." He replied with a smile, I smiled back. The film was going to start now so we kept quiet and watched the film, sharing the popcorn. Once the film was finished we walked out of the cinema and down the road a bit, across the road I saw Zach with his Jock friends, oh great I just can't seem to catch a break and get away from him. He walked over to Jacob and I. He makes me so angry, why doesn't he just go and leave me alone.
"What you guys up to?" Zach asked me wrapping his arm round my shoulders. "Nothing that involves you." I snapped at him. "Well, why are you with this guy?" He asked me, the others where surrounding Jacob. "Because he's a good friend." I snapped back. "Hey, what are you doing?" I said trying to get to Jacob through the circle of jocks. Zach just blocked me from getting to him. I heard Nick hitting Jacob, and Jacob shouting in pain. "Stop it, leave him alone!" I shouted hitting Zach's chest and he just smirked at me then knocked me over. They stopped hitting Jacob and ran off laughing, I stood up and walked over to Jacob he looked really beaten up, so I walked him to my house, my mom and dad still wasn't home so I helped a limping Jacob to the sofa and laid him down. "Oh My God Jacob I'm so sorry." I said nearly crying. "It's ok." He replied, his face was covered in bruises and he had a black eye. "No it's not, it's all my fault." I said now upset. "No it's not your fault." He replied and placed his hand and on my back and pulled me into a hug. "Don't say that, it's Zach's fault and his jerk Jocks." He added, come on Amber you can't cry I said to myself, I guess I really care about Jacob if I'm cry for him. "Please don't cry Amber." He said quietly. "Ok, I'll stop." I added, and he did a small smile and we broke from the hug. "We have a guest room you can stay in tonight." I stated. "I need to get home." Jacob replied. "No, you're not you can't even walk properly." I said reminding him about his leg. "Ok, I'll stay, I just don't want to be a bother." He added, oh bless he's hurt and still doesn't want to be a burden, no I'm going to make sure he's ok, I care about him. It was now ten and my parents were still not home they must be having a good time.
I'll get him a drink of water, I walked past the fridge and there was a note on it and it said "Amber, Me and your farther will be late home, Hope you had a good time and make sure your in bed by eleven. Mom x." That was normal for them leaving me alone, I walked back to Jacob with a glass of water and I handed it to him. "Thank you." He replied. "No problem." I did a small smile as he took a sip of the water. "How are you feeling?" I asked him. "A little better but my bruises still hurt." He replied. "Ok, let me show you to the guest room." I said helping him up from the sofa, it was on the ground floor so that made it very easy to help him walk to the room. He sat on the sofa in the room and I sat next to him, we had a chat and a laugh, we must have fallen asleep as I woke up the next day with Jacob's head on my shoulder he was still sleeping, I wonder what time my parents came home I thought, Jacob stirred in his sleep then woke.
