Emerald POV

"Are we there, yet?" I ask my patient mother. Our family is moving, to the infamous, beach city. I've read, on a distant site, that strange things happen in this place."i see the sign, we aaaaaaaarrrrrrreeee there now." My mother says jokingly. As we all screech to a halt in our Toyota family van, I jump out as it slowed down." Mooom, how come sis gets to do that!?" My little sister, amber, asked." She does not, she will be in trouble." Says mom. My little sis stares at me with a huge smirk, as she unbuckles her seatbelt. I knew this would happen, so I rigged her seat before we left, to make her stuck. Only I knew how to unrig it.

" moooooooooooooooooooom!!!!!!" She screams." Its stuck!!!" She yelled once more. My mother looked at me, then nodded her head sideways, as saying: 'go explore, your off the hook. This one time.' I nod back, then zoom off. " I heard there was a doughnut and pizza shop around."

As I traveled down the boardwalk, I noticed this short kinda kid, who had a big bandage on his forehead. He was talking to a young lady with blonde hair and a doughnut shirt on. Accompanied with a tall skinny figure, who had rings for ears and also a doughnut shirt on." Oh these, these are just battle scars from an earlier mission!" Said the little kid, apparently trying to sound tough." Oh yeah, show us then." Said the skinny guy, as he flashed an amused look. The little kid took off his bandage, and said," see!" As he pointed to it. The two teens started howling with laughter, as I stepped in." Hey c'mon! Show some respect! You don't laugh at a defenseless child like that! Step off!" I shouted, bound to get their attention." Relax! Wait! Your new here aren't you?" Asked the tall one once more." Yeah! So what!?" I spat, as he checked me out. I turned around to face the child, who had a face of embarrassment." Hey," I said " don't let them get you down. You are a temple. Don't let them knock you down!" I spoke with powerful words, trying to get him up.

" Hi! My name is Steven! Steven universe! What's yours?"" Emerald." I answered, hoping we'll be best friends." I wanna show you where I live! C'mon!" Steven shouted with happiness." O-ok!" I stammered, taken aback by this sudden action.

We traveled across, what seemed to be a beach, when a statue of a giant lady came into view." Whoa!" Is all I could say, struck with its beauty. Inside the statue was a house. Not to big, not too small." In here" he shouted once more. As I walk in, I see another, very thin figure, but her skin is pale. She had a turquoise shirt, with the color matching bow on it. She also had mustard yellow shorts under it, with light pink socks and light blue ballerina shoes." Hello." I greet quietly, as she lifted her head up." Pearl the is is emerald, emerald this is pearl!" He stated, as I did a quirtsy with my dark green skirt." Hello, miss pearl. I am emerald shine. Nice to meet you!" I spoke, as I advanced towards her. I reached out my hand to shake hers. She seemed hesitant, and stared. As if she has never seen such modesty before. After a minute or two, she decided to shake it.

Suddenly, I feel and hear huge thumps, as if footsteps, coming towards the temple." What's that!?" I shouted, as we all run out of the little house." Its sugilite!" Shouted pearl." Wait, what?! I thought sugilite was just a type of crystal!" I yelled, as I stood there in amazement.' I am so glad we moved here!' I thought, as I heard a loud sassy voice.

Did two people come out of her!? My mind was racing with questions, as I was frozen in place." Emerald! Come over here! There are two more people I'd like you to meet!" Yelled Steven, as I stepped away from the house" Steven, you might want to give these two some time to recover, the look pretty hurt." I stated, cringing as the reddish gem stood up, like she was not hurt.' Wow!' I thought, as I studied her features. She was a really tall lady, with a body suit on, that had a dark red side, and black side. There was a half star on her chest, and she had square hair. She wore large sunglasses, which covers most of her face." Hello, I am emerald shine, it is a pleasure to meet you." As I said those words, she made a small smile." Garnet." Was all she said, with a thick, British accent. My eyes turned to stars and my knees jelly." C-c-cool." I stammered. Oh boy, this will be one fun ride!
