So I put alittle bit of the original story in the summary, but I'm going to tell you how it ends~ MY way~ from the very beginning to the very end.
{Todd's POV}
I don't remember much about my past, or where I came from, the point is I don't know who I am...but one day, a kind old woman came and pulled me out of the dark, literally, I was under a bucket for ,like, until she came. She smiles warmly at me and picks me up,Well hello little fox, are you abandoned...?" She asks with her hoarse but sweet voice. I nod my head knowing that I've been only in that bucket for days and almost considered calling it home. Booping my nose lightly, she smiles once more, "I'll call you Todd then, and you can live with me from now on, until your grown up to be on your own, how does that sound?"
I smile my own smile knowing I'll be well taken care of, then I'm here now, on the farm, playing with the chickens, messing with the cows, This is my life now. When I get bored I would sneak away to the Wood and meet With my Best friend, Copper!!
Copper, is a blood hound so he can smell from miles away, he picks up sense real easily, sometimes even when I try to surprise him, he points to me like he already knows I was there! I love playing with him, he always so kind and tender when it comes to me, He said he was born to hunt and would do anything to make his destiny come true....but not to long from that time, he stopped coming to the woods, I didn't see him anymore. So I decided to visit him, when I got there it seemed they were leaving to go somewhere, I see Copper in the back of the truck, looking back at me with a sad expression, he mouthed the words "wait for me!" And then the truck spend off.
I knew at that very moment, Copper might not come back for a long while from then....
Time flies and I'm fully grown! I love Mrs. Tweed! She is an amazing owner, she owns a lovely farm, has very nice neighbors, even invite some over to show me off...I wish she would stop crying when everyone leaves... She told me stories of her and her husband and how they use to go on adventures in the woods and did the same with her friends...she cries everytime she tells those stories and I don't like it.
She says that one day, she would have her very own child to call her own but when she found out she couldn't have that, she broke down....time pasted and the married couple turned old and withered away, the husband was a generous man, sadly, he was the first to go....Mrs. Tweed tells me, I'm like the son she'd always wanted. I stand by her, keep her and her farm safe since its the only thing she has. I'll protect her in any cost....even if it means to kill myself for her. She deserves more than to die alone, this selfless woman, the one who raised me; was going to wither away without anyone ever knowing. I'm about 20 years old now and still growing! Out in the front yard I'm messing with the chickens, when I hear a familiar sound, a sound of a rusty old truck from a long long time ago....
Looking around I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the same truck my best friend had left in, right then my eyes brightened to see Copper in the front seat with his master, he's grown to be a strong and sleek hound!
That night I snuck out to see him,
"Copper! Long time no see!"
Suddenly he growls, making me flinch, but softens when he recognized me.
"T-Todd? Is that you?"
"yeah! I'm so happy you still remember me! Do you want to go mess with the forest creatures again? Like old times...?" Smiling I wait for a definite answer.
"I can't, Amos said I must hunt your kind....your not safe around me...."
My ears drop in disappointment, ".....what about what you said when you left? You mouthed, "wait for me" and I did....What happened to you when you left, Copper?"
He turns his back, and faces the barrel dog house he claimed as his own.
There was a long silence, and then his voice."I'm sorry to have confused you, I said, "goodbye Todd..." When I left...." My heart dropped, he's not the Copper I knew back then. I feel tears welling up in my eyes, he's not my Copper.... What happened to MY Copper....
"....I see....well, goodbye to you too, C-Copper...." When I stuttered that last part, he noticed it and turned around. In shock he widened his eyes to see me cry, pouring droplets of tears down my face.
"....I-I'll be going then...." Running off back home, I here Copper yelling to me, "WAIT COME BACK!! TODD!!" his voice got even more distant as I got closer to home. Why did he change? ....Was it someone who changed him? If he doesn't want to be friends that's fine, and maybe....just maybe he has someone else special to his heart....stopping I gasp at the realization, that over Copper's long LONG trip away he must have found someone to call his other half...for me the tears didn't stop though, even though I thought I had felt happy for him, My heart is telling me I'm really not...
I hear pitter patter of steps coming from behind me, I didn't stop walking, actually I started run, because the steps turned into a sprint directly towards me!?
