For the past 9 years, ever since his mom died, Stiles Stilinski would go over to the Mccall's, who welcomed him with open arms, for Christmas. The first time he went over was late on December 24th, 2005. His dad had just left for work and Scott talked about having a huge dinner that night that his mom spent days preparing. Turkey, mashed potatoes, and ice cream for dessert. To Stiles, that sounded better than any box of Kraft Dinner he could ever make.

Any holiday really took a toll on the small boy. This being the first Christmas without his mom, and his dad taking the longest shift he could, really made Stiles feel alone. Even at his young age he understood that his dad took this time of the year hard too. Which is why he didn't make a fuss about a singe thing.

When he made it to the front of Scott's house it took him 8 minutes to work up the courage to walk up to his door, and another minute and a half to actually knock. His palms were sweaty, he started swallowing a lot unintentionally. Regret shot at lightning speed through his veins.

His red Christmas sweater that his mom had gotten him last year was on, and the end of the sleeves were bunched in his hands. He didn't come empty handed though. In a small backpack he brought 3 cans of coke, and a present for the youngest Maccall.

Stiles being the 'hyperactive little shit' he is, opened one of his presents that his dad had gotten him early. It was brand new pajamas.

He decided that he was happy with the ones he had now, and re-wrapped it, (Horribly now that he thinks back on it) and put Scott's name on it.

His small fist hit the door 4 times. 'Oh god.' Innocent adrenaline replaced his regret. He heard small feet hit their hardwood floor as the door opened. Melissa was standing, holding the door open, and Scott was peeking through her legs trying to see who knocked on their door at 7:30 at night. Once he saw who it was his face lit up.

"Stiles!" he yelled with excitement and pulled him in the door. Mrs. Mccall closed the door gently and bent down so she was face to face with their new guest.

"Stiles what are you doing here so late? Are you okay?" Hearing the voice of a concerned mom somehow soothed Stiles and also saddened him. His eyes kept glancing from Scott, to his moms, and back once more. When his eyes met Scott's for the last time, tears filled his eyes and tears poured over. His body was launched onto Scott, and Scott wrapped his arms around his best friend so tight, that he was prepared to never let go.

"Oh honey what's wrong?" Melissa was very concerned now, as she has never seen Stiles cry before, but it looked like Scott had, and knew just what to do. Melissa simply stayed quiet and watched.

Their eyes were both squeezed shut. The backpack was long forgotten on the door mat, and Scott was about to help his sad friend.

"Hey, hey buddy. It's okay." He started rubbing circles into his best friends back. The sobs coming from him looked like it physically hurt Scott, which then hurt his mom too.

"Let's take your boots off and you can come hangout with me okay?" They broke apart and Stiles started to sniffle.

"You don't have to tell me what's bothering you right now okay? You got time, and when you're ready my mom can make us some hot chocolate and we can talk yeah?" Melissa was in shock. She had never witnessed something like this before. To say she was proud of Scott was an understatement.

Stiles nodded at Scott, who took his hand and dragged him off to the kitchen. It took her a few moments to pull herself together, when she did she followed them into the kitchen.

Scott was on the counter pulling a plate out of the cupboard, and hoping down with it, then giving it to Stiles. He pulled out a chair for him to sit on, and then took his own seat across the table, his plate of food already in front of him.

"I have something for you Scott, your mom too!" Stiles hopped off the chair and ran to his backpack. When he walked in, the three cokes he was carrying took up a lot of his arms. One nearly fell, but Mrs. Mccall was there to catch it.

"I thought if I came over with something to give you guys, you'd maybe let me stay." Tears came rushing down Melissa's face. She started to hug Stiles so tight it made him feel like he was a teddy bear.

"You are always welcomed. Never be afraid to come here if you need something sweetie. Scott and I will always open our doors for you." She went outside to take a breath of fresh air. She wiped the tears that were going down her face and chin. With the coke still in her hands, she walked inside and sat next to boys.

"I like your sweater." Scott said leaning over the table pointing at Stiles' slightly worn red and white sweater.

"Thanks my mom got it for me last year." He didn't seen too fazed by it, but now it all made sense. Melissa's heart ached for the small boy, it truly did, but she didn't comment, and let the two boys socialize.

For the next hour talks of superheros and Santa filled the air. Once it had gotta pretty close to 9 o'clock Melissa announced that it was time to open their Christmas eve present. When Scott received the wrapped gift he immediate turned and gave it to Stiles.

"Here, it's yours." Scott stated simply and handed it to Stiles. He was shocked.

"No no no no it's your present." Scott just had a smile on his face, insisting he take the present.

"It's okay I have lot's here." Once Stiles accepted the gift he pulled out the oddly shaped present from his bag and handed it to Scott. He took it with a big lopsided grin that always reminded Stiles of a puppy.

"Okay guys open them at the same time." Melissa said with a grin plastered on her face.

When all the wrapping paper had been ripped and torn from the presents laughter erupted from the two boys.

"They match!" They both held up matching batman pajamas. They had run upstairs, changed into them, then just as fast, ran down and began wrestling in their living room.

Neither of them noticed that Scott's mom had been recording them the whole time.

She then learned when they were getting tired, and had turned on The Nightmare Before Christmas, that Stiles had no one at home to go to, but he was immediately offered a place to stay at the Mccalls, and that's were he slept, and then spent Christmas morning.

So when Stiles shows up every Christmas eve after that, feeling really shitting, with a case of coke in one hand, and a horribly wrapped present in the other, Scott and his mom welcome him, with open arms like she promised, inside for dinner.

They then exchange the yearly present of new pajamas, and the occasional Nerf gun, or video game, and talk about how Stiles is doing, and how Scott can help him feel better, and each time they begin talking, cups of hot chocolate are placed into their hands, along with a warm smile from Mrs. Mccall.

Occasionally, every other year they pull out the video tape of their first Christmas together, and Scott is right there, when Stiles sheds his tears of laughter, sadness, and happiness.

Then once Christmas morning rolls around and he wakes up to a happy Scott, and a happy mother cooking Christmas tree pancakes, just for them, Scott gives him a big reassuring hug, which makes him feel like he's not so alone anymore.
