New Home

The air was warm and sunny. I roll down the window and let the cool breeze blow in. Today i'm heading to my new home where father told me to live from now on. The driver of the car doesn't speak on the drive there so I decide not to bother him. I stare longingly out into the trees, excitedly waiting for my destination to arrive.

Finally for what seemed like an eternity, my driver stops in front of a gate. I step out of the car and admire the scenery. I listen to skidding of tires as the car drives away, leaving me to stand in awe of my new home. I diligently open the large gates and slide through. The metal closes behind me as I walk down the long road that leads up to the front steps. Looking around there are a a lot of pretty plants. There's even a fountain. How nice this place is.

Suddenly, as if it weren't even possible. It starts to rain. I stare up at the clouds, letting the drops fall onto my face. I stand here enjoying the cool when it thunders loudly. My body jumps a little. I spot an awning above the door and duck for cover, my suitcase rolling along behind me. I notice a hook on one of the big, wooden doors. I lift it up slightly, a low creak grumbling from it in refusal. It seems like no one has opened these doors in years. It was sort of heavy for some reason. When I let it go, it makes a loud bang that echos through the whole house. They would have to have heard me.

A few seconds pass and no one shows up to greet me. I look around at the windows. They don't have any light shining through them. I reach for the handle on the door. Before I could set my wet hand on its gold bar, the door creaks open on its own. No one is on the other side. Shudders run down my body. I quietly push the door open. What I see inside is overwhelming.

A gigantic chandelier hangs above my head a few hundred feet up. There's a long staircase that starts out big and grows smaller to what looks like the second floor. "Hello?" I call out. The only reply is the sound of the thunder outside the sturdy walls of my new home. They must not of thought I would be arriving today. I walk a few inches forward and let the front door close behind me. "Hello?" I say a little louder than before. "Is anyone here?" Again, no response. I look over to my right and see a pair of legs laying down in the room next to this one. Taking my chance, I run to the room hoping that the person who is in there can tell me what I should do. Once I get there, the pair of legs belongs to what it looks like to be a young man. He wears clothing, almost like a uniform, and is sleeping soundly on a green sofa in front of a large window, where it still appears to be raining. He looks about my age but, I don't know for sure. I kneel down next to him. "Um. Excuse me?" I say softly. He doesn't answer me. I reach out and slightly touch his hand. The feeling that I receive is frigid. "You're cold!" I exclaim. I check for a heartbeat. "H-he doesn't have a pulse!" I quickly pull out my phone where there seems to be a text from my father. I ignore it and dial 911.

A hand reaches out and snatches my phone from my shaky hands. My mouth falls open. The man who I thought was dead sits up and glares straight at me. He has bright, green eyes. They look cold and hard as well. "Damn, your noisy. This isn't even your house so could you please keep it down?" He whispers, his voice is stern and hard. My eyes grow wide. "You're alive!" I say shocked. "Why wouldn't I be alive. Seriously. What do you think I am anyway?" He says coldly. I back away from him a step. "Y-your heart! It seemed to have stopped! It wasn't beating at all!" I quiver. A smile creeps across his face. He grabs my waist throws me down in front of him, his body looming over me. "Hey! What are you doing?!" I shout. He grabs my wrists and holds them down tightly. "What am I doing? Why I think you already know. I'm about to take you of course." He says. He brings his head down low and licks my neck softly. His tounge is like an ice cube. My whole body fills with dread. I shiver.

"Ayato, what's all the commotion down here?" He lifts his head and looks at another man. The man looks about the same age as me. He is tall and slender. He is wearing a vest with a dress shirt underneath and what looks like glasses. That's all I could make out in the darkness of the room and the flash of the storm outside.
