We were in Europe. I was there studying literature and he was studying art. We found out about the lost castle in a restaurant in Ireland. An old woman overheard us talking about where we were going to go study and told us stories about this abandoned castle with so much history and all of it lost. She told us to go to Scotland and that is where we will find the castle. She had said that there were many people that were with her, but she was the only one to make it out. We were also warned that if we found anything out of place or time to leave immediately and never return. But, we were way too young and stupid to believe in that. Maybe we should have been more careful and listened.

The castle was undeniably gorgeous. The clear skies were a beautiful pale blue and there wasn't a single dead blade of grass on the field that went for miles. The place was flawless and yet, it looked as if no living soul had set foot around the area for over 500 years. I wonder why it still looks like this after all this time. It was all so magical, just like a dream, but at the same time, there was an empty, dangerous sort of energy to the place. As if we were being warned to not go any further, or like a dragon, hiding inside and when we were at our most vulnerable, it would eat us. I still wish that I didn't ignore the feeling.
"Wow, this place is amazing. I wonder why it's in the middle nowhere?" I asked Cameron, my best friend. "Maybe they wanted to hide its beauty." I tuned to look at him, staring into his gray eyes for a minute before looking away and saying, "Or maybe there was a secret to hide. It could also have been for protection." He turned my face towards his, "Are you seriously suggesting it was purposely done to protect the people living outside the grounds?" I moved his hand away and began walking again. "I'm not suggesting anything." And with that final response, we continued towards our destination. And the closer we got to it, the more uneasy I felt about this European paradise.
Sorry this chapter was really, really short, it was just a little intro chapter. The other chapters will be much longer! I hope you guys are as excited as I am about this new book! And I probably won't be able to update for the next 10 days, I am taking summer courses and I'm enrolled in multiple advanced classes, so I have work for that. And if I do have a few free days, I'll be spending them with my dad. But after about 10 days I should have time.
