Author's Note:

Hello everyone! I know it has literally been FOREVER since I have updated this story. Last time I updated it, I was in school, and since have been quite enjoying my summer. I got a new boyfriend and he is leaving when he goes back to school so I have been spending every second with him that  I can... Lame, I know, and not something that I'm sure you guys find relevant. I'm sure you just want me to get on with the story, so I will. I'm not sure how regular the updates will be, or how good the story will be, as  I will be very busy once school starts up again. I hope you guys will stick with me and give me the support you guys gave me to encourage me to get on with the story, because I honestly considered not finishing it. Without all of you lovely fans, I wouldn't have picked this up again. I hope for it to get better now that Elizabeth is older, less innocent, and more mature. Anyways guys, please comment and vote on this and don't forget to pass this along to your friends! Thanks!

Chapter Eleven (Elizabeth's POV)

It was hard for me to believe that I was about to enter my fifth year at Hogwarts, I thought, as I boarded the Hogwarts Express. I was excited to see Harry Potter. This kid was seriously a great friend. Sure, I had been sorted into Slytherin, and it was really, very odd for a Slytherin and a Gryffindor to be such great friends, but I couldn't help it. Harry was a very sincere and genuine person, my first real friend ever. The only difference that we had, which I couldn't blame him for, was Severus. The man that I was starting to fall in love with, after three years with him, treated Harry, my best friend like crap. Not that I could blame Severus either. Harry tried his hardest to defy Severus. Oh how hard my life was, I thought bitterly. The closest people in my life hated each other and constantly tried to turn me against the other. I knew that they didn't really mean for it to hurt me. As my thoughts continued to trail off into my Severus/Harry issue, I noticed that the train was speeding up.

Before I knew it, the train began slowing down, and I quickly changed into my school robes. As soon as I got off of the train, I looked around and found the man that I expected to see pretty quickly. I gave Severus a quick nod and he came billowing towards me. He leaned towards me and whispered for me to follow him. I did as I was instructed to do. He lead me quickly through the enterance of the school and into the dungeons. I was in his office, that was all too familiar to me. He motioned for me to sit down in front of his desk, and I did so. I was more than a little confused by his silence, and his distance from me. He continued to be silent, as he stood on the opposite side of his desk, staring at me intently. I wasn't sure how to respond, so I looked away from him.

Finally, he cleared his throat and began speaking. "I know that you and Potter are close friends. However, I warn you, Elizabeth, stay clear of him. There are things that are going on in the wizarding world, things that will effect Potter negatively, and I do not wish for you to be brought down along with him." I glared at him. "Severus, you know that I will be sticking close to Harry through this time, especially if there is the possibility that he will be brought down. That's what a friend does. Sticks with them through thick and thin. Come on, you have to know that. I know you expected Lily to do the same, and I know that you were miserable when she didn't. I refuse to be like that woman and leave my friend."

He looked at me and seemed pretty angry at first, but then calmed down pretty quickly. He smiled and asked, "How was your summer with that muggle?" I made a face and said, "Same old, same old. Chores, bad clothes. Being yelled at and hit all the time. Not that I'm not used to that, but being here makes things feel good for me... and then when I have to go back, I'm more miserable than I ever remember being." Severus nodded his head. Several minutes passed, when I finally spoke again. "How was your summer, Severus?" He half smiled and said, "Quite lovely. I didn't have to deal with any of these dunderhead students. Just kidding. I've missed you very much Lil.... Elizabeth."
