Jay woke to the sound of tapping. He was in a slightly uncomfortable bed with an IV in his arm. The familiar numbness in his legs was still present. He went to slide out of bed when he realized that his braces were gone.
"You can't walk can you?"
Jay looked over to the girl that captured him. She was wearing a simple black tank top and some loose fitting pants. Did this girl only dress in black?
"No I can't. Not without the braces."
The girl nodded and then slowly stopped.
"Your braces let you run?"
She picked one of them up off the table next to her and inspected it closely.
"I configured it to my disability and it will automatically move to the motion of my upper legs. I have some feeling there."
Sierra put the leg down and stood up as Caroline entered the room. She inspected the condition that he was in.
"Jay Rein."
Jay nodded.
"I have an offer for you Jay, and I hope that you will consider it."
She handed him a small piece of paper. On the paper were different names and what condition they were in. Jay then realized that these were his weapons.
"You will be given full immunity if you help recover every weapon that you have released into this world."
Caroline took the paper back from Jay. She waved the doctor in and he began a checkup. A wheelchair was brought in for him.
Jay eased into it and followed Caroline as she moved to the command room. Sierra followed close behind him. The command room was buzzing with activity. Caroline tapped a button and one of the screens showed a map. Dots blinked across the whole world.
"These are locations of weapons that you have released that we know of. If you assist us in securing these weapons and anymore that you know of, you will receive full immunity."
Jay leaned back in the wheelchair and brought his hands to his chin.
"You are missing around one hundred weapons."
Caroline and Sierra looked at him in shock. Jay pushed himself forward and tapped a couple keys. Data flowed into the image of the map and more dots started to appear.
"This is all the weapons that I have made."
Caroline studied the map intently.
"I assume this means that you will be assisting is in the attempt to remove your stain from this earth?"
Jay nodded.
I cannot stay here though. The longer I stay here, the larger the chance that some of my clients get antsy. Invite the media and release me for them. I will help you if you do that."
Caroline shook her head.
"Absolutely not. You are the world's most dangerous man. I cannot let you roam free to escape whenever you feel.
"I have sold weapons and other powerful devices to other countries. Just me being here is a world security issue."
Caroline considered his words. National security is not something that she wanted to explain to the Director.
"I will watch him."
Sierra was listening to the conversation intently.
"I have an ok from the Village to stay here until this matter is resolved."
