I woke up panting with a heavy sweat on my forehead. I couldn't breathe as I craned my head to see the little number on my alarm clock. Forcing my head back on the pillow, I tried to recall what the dream was I was having. For the moment, all I could see was a forest, a sudden flash of bright, and then I was lost in some dark background, wondering where I was going. The feeling wasn't something I could describe or replicate. It was just this feeling that I had something beautiful and then just lost it. Controlling my breathing was now easy, I suppose it was that I couldn't keep my mind from running. I looked to the top of my ceiling and thought about what do dreams really mean? Are they a vision of the future? Perhaps, but for the moment, all I could think of was how truly awful it would be if the dream came true. Thinking now there was only one element I could remember perfectly. A bird, large, intimidating, and an incredibly beautiful bird.
